Pet care experience
I am a veterinary student at Tufts and a technician in our small animal ER! I graduated from Michigan State in 2020, where I worked at Michigan State's Veterinary Medical Center, and I have been volunteering at shelters for 9 years. I have 2 small breed dogs at home, but I have experience handling large dogs at shelters. I can normally win over even the most stranger - averse dogs, and have training in animal behavior. My availability is most flexible on weekends, and during the week, we can work together to find the best times for me to take care of your cat or dog. It will always be my priority to give your best friend the best day ever. I am also experienced in handling small mammals and reptiles, if you have anyone else that needs some love. Please contact me with any questions about my experience or availability!
Reviews
Very professional and took good care of the cats. Looking forward to working with you again.
Upon our return, the kitties were relaxed and well fed. Although we missed them, Lauren was able to capture lovely daily photos of our ‘babies’. You can confidently leave your pet care to Lauren.
Lauren was great. Very responsive to everything in a timely manner. Cats were well fed, litter was changed, and she sent daily pictures to make sure we had visual confirmation that they were well. I would definitely rebook with Lauren.
I was so nervous leaving my cat, Maggie, for 5 days! Lauren’s calm personality helped me feel comfortable enough that my cat would be in good hands! After a couple days days of check-ins, my “scaredy-cat “ finally came out from her hiding place and played with Lauren…that is a rarity with strangers. She just has a special way about her and I would highly recommend her to care for your animal!

Safety, trust & environment
Pets in my care are consistently evaluated for happiness and welfare, and one of the most important factors in that is love! Working in Tufts’ ER, I am intimately familiar with how scary new people and places can be, and always strive to make every pet feel comfortable and loved.

Please let me know if your pet has any medical conditions or behavioral quirks! I’m happy to accommodate medications, physical disabilities, or specific monitoring needs.
A typical day
The dogs I watch are given an activity level appropriate for their energy level - older or quieter pups get more couch time, while younger or more energetic pups get lots of runs and games.
