Traveling Family w/Golden Retriever
Pet care experience
We believe that pets are one of God's greatest gifts to mankind. Simply, they are family members. [Important Note: Willing to travel! For this season, I have lowered our rates for house-sitting because we would like to request that we can stay together as a family (dog and child included), and we know that doesn't work for everyone, which is completely understandable (sorry to waste your time). We also realize that it's a lot to ask, even for those it does work for, so $14/night has been deducted from our usual rate. We just miss our dog too much when she's apart from us and want more time together as a family and thus more time with your pets.] Our family of four, consisting of our Golden Retriever (Diamond), 5 year old son, and my husband and I, are all available for house-sitting and willing to travel to different areas to watch dogs, cats, farm animals, and any other critters! We have many years of experience of pet-sitting together as a family and individually, including horse care and we have our own 10 gallon fish aquarium, so feel free to reach out with your unique request. Our dog is a friendly, well-behaved, fully house-trained, senior Golden Retriever. She is vaccinated, on flea prevention, non-destructive, and doesn't get on furniture. You'll never know that she's even been in your home. She's done many, many sits with us since she was a puppy, and there have never been any issues from her. Your pets would need to be friendly and relatively mellow, as in not jumping on her or nipping at her, because she's a mature lady now. We would require a Meet & Greet at your house so that our dogs can mingle with each other prior to us accepting a booking request, and for you to also have the opportunity to decide whether we are a good fit. If you're still reading.... A little about my experience: Growing up as an animal lover I chose jobs, such as working at a boarding kennel for dogs, cats, birds, and other critters and volunteered my time to animal shelters. Working at the boarding kennel was a middle/high school job of mine. Oftentimes, the kennel owner would leave town with the entire business in my care. On average, I took care of 40-50 pets by myself, sometimes up to 70 on holidays...Yes, I have started out my Christmas morning by feeding and cleaning up after that many dogs, whew! I catered to each of their special feeding instructions, medications, bathing, and unique qualities (escape artistry, separation anxiety, fear of storms, aggression, pregnancy and puppy birth, dementia, diabetes, seizures, etc). I also did quite a bit of house-sitting for family, friends, and even my school teachers (yep, I was always the "teacher's pet"). Schedule: Lauren is a stay at home mom and Mark works from home, so our schedule is mostly open to be present with your pets. We are homebodies anyway, whether it's your home or ours. ;)

Safety, trust & environment
We're more than happy to water plants, collect chicken eggs, retrieve mail, feed fish, or whatever else is needed while you're away. We're flexible and wish to work with you so that your pet will be happy and well-loved.
Information Lauren O. would like to know about your pet
We would like to know the feeding and potty schedule, food allergy and vet information, any specific behavioral traits, such as fear of storms or separation anxiety, whether the pets are fully house-trained (Do they ever have accidents inside your home, including the usage of pee pads?), if they are known to be completely friendly with other dogs and children, and if you have the expectation of watching them on your indoor cameras during our house-sit stay in your home. Please answer these questions in your initial booking request and any other important information you feel that we should know, thank you!
A typical day
We are open to taking your friendly dog to a favorited park to play and out for long, neighborhood walks. If they like fetch or playing with toys, we are always up for that. Whatever they enjoy doing, we'll be there for the fun.

Availability
We go over your routines and preferences together! If you do not have a securely fenced-in backyard, dogs stay leashed outside of the home, and we don't take them anywhere in the car without your permission.
