Hi! My name is Lauren and I'm a recent graduate from The Ohio State University with a lot of free time on my hands and not enough dogs in my life! I grew up in a small town in Western Pennsylvania where I had three siblings and two dogs. I started caring for dogs when I was 8 years old and got my first puppy, a golden retriever named Fluffy. When I was a senior in high school, I adopted my second dog, Bruno. Bruno is a Boston Terrier-Chihuahua-Pitbull mix quite a combination, right?! My dogs were completely different in every way possible, from size to activity level to health needs. My experience taking care of and training the two of them helped a lot when I started volunteering at the Franklin County Animal Shelter in 2015. I was a part of an organization at OSU called Partnering Up for Pets for three years where we walked dogs at the shelter weekly. The experiences with my own dogs and the ones at the shelter provided me with a lot of skills that I hope to use working for Rover! I just moved to Washington from Ohio, so I’m just learning the area and how different things are here. I’m not currently working so I have a lot of free time to love on pups! Every dog and family has different needs, so I will tailor activities and schedules to what works best for you--from taking the dog on long walks or playing outdoors to just keeping them company inside and showering them with attention.
