I have had dogs my entire life but once I got to high school I took a much more active role in caring for our family dog. My dad and I shared the responsibilities so my role was walking her at least 5 times a week and making sure she was fed in the evenings. My family's dog is a Germain shorthair pointer so I have had plenty of experience with bigger high energy dogs. Apart from caring for my own dog, friends and neighbors frequently depended on me to care for, walk, and feed their dogs. I also have some experience with caring for cats. I had a roommate for a year that had a cat and I often would take on the care responsibilities when she was out of town.
