Scritches & love for dogs and cats

Pet care experience

I can't wait to meet you and pupper! We'll get acquainted so that doggo and I are all set to have a great time while you are away experiencing adventures of the human kind. I'm available for both short sits (2 to 6 nights) and long sits (a week or two weeks or possibly more). During a house sit, doggeroo and I take morning and evening walks. Some days I'll be available for mid-day visits, though some days I won't be available. We can discuss needs and options. I love kitties!! The more four-paws the merrier. I also do house sits for kitties (with no dogs). I'm familiar with walking and handling dogs who are leash reactive and I'll adapt to whatever protocol you are using to train your dog. I've worked with two 90+ pound dogs who lunge at other dogs. Also, a German Shepard who is prey aggressive toward dogs, cats, deer, squirrels, aaaaand things I can't see -- oh my! One must always be prepared for the unexpected when walking doggeroos! I started pet sitting through a local doggy day care, and I still sit for them. I learned the ropes of providing great pet services. House sitting includes light plant care, garbage bins to/from street, setting security alarms, checking mail, and special requests as needed.

First I want to say that If your dog isn't reactive, Lauren would probably be a fine sitter. I mostly chose Lauren because when we went on our meet and greet she wasn't phased by Coda (my dog)'s reactiveness and seemed very confident that she would be able to handle it. Coda and I worked together for a couple weeks on improving her reactiveness and before I left her with Lauren and based on her constant improvements I had full confidence that she would be a regular, non leash-reactive dog within a couple months. Lauren took care of her for a little more than a week, and they got into a bad situation the 2nd day. Lauren was communicative about it which was good. But I think it left them both very anxious. By the time I got back Coda had changed from a dog that would lunge at 1 in 50 people, and get stiff around 1 in 20 to a dog that barked and lunged at every person. Her dog reactivity has also gotten worse, before she'd bark, but was much more easily distracted. Now she barks and lunges at every dog. Before Lauren took care of her I had full confidence that she'd be a happy city dog in a few months. Now I'm not sure she'll ever recover, she clearly had a pretty traumatic time. So while I'm sure Lauren would probably be fine for a non-reactive dog, I would strongly caution against having her take care of your pup if they have reactivity issues.

Thanks for taking such great care of Zee. She was happy and obviously had a nice time with you. I'm sure she enjoyed all the great walks. Glad you could troubleshoot the toilet issue. Would request Lauren again for overnight sitting with Zee.
