pet lover and pet owner myself

Pet care experience

I’ve had pets since I’ve been born and have always been tasked to care for them as well as neighbors and families pets. I have experience training dogs and am flexible with my schedule. I also don’t mind going on runs, to parks, or to water (if allowed) to give the dogs exercise. My schedule is usually pretty open. Any time of the day (especially mornings) for walks or check-ins usually works. Im available for overnight stays especially on weekdays. My own pet care for my pup requires my attention everyday, so I am pretty well rounded with dogs needs. We have an electric fence at the house that we would use when my dog was a puppy, but now it’s not needed and she just knows to stay in the yard. She gets frequent baths and tooth brushing as well as plenty of treats. She gets plenty of attention and love and I would provide the same for your dogs.

Lauren was so kind and went up to our dogs right away to greet them and get to know them. She sent us photos and updates while we were away. We would definitely use her again!

I would be wary to book with Lauren. The first time I hired her for a stop in which was to meet her and for her to meet my dog, she canceled on me an hour before arriving to tell me she had got called into work. I booked her a second time for a walk to continue to acclimate my dog with her, she was 15 minutes late and I had to reach out to her only to find out her car had broken down but she used her dad‘s car but was 30 minutes late. Then I booked her for an out of town stay, things I’m not confident about, did she even sleep here at all as that was not evident, my dog has two water bowls the one in the bedroom was completely dried which means the dog did not have water in it for days, the one in the kitchen I came home to only having a quarter of water left in the bowl. When I asked her about the water bowl her comment was oh my bad. She had a million lights turned on when I arrived home during the day which made me feel like she had not slept here overnight and the lights were left on for the dog. She just had too many questionable comments and on the first day of my leave out of town she did not respond to me for 4 to 5 hours stating she forgot her phone charger and her phone was dead only to find out later she was swimming in the pool. On the positive side my dog did not seem distressed even though he was ravenous and ate for me immediately upon arriving home. Given the previous review to mine, I now fear my suspicions are true.

Overall the worst dog sitter I ever found on Rover. After asking how the dogs were doing she was wondering why one of the dogs wasn’t eating breakfast at which point I had to remind her that only one of the dogs ate twice a day the others were feed only at night. She arrived way past the decided start time and left early. Only got updates after probing. We weren’t even told one the dogs was sick until after I inquired how they were doing. Found a pile of poop and large urine stain on my nice rug that hadn’t even been attempted to be cleaned up. The dogs she watched are potty trained and do not go to the bathroom in the house. I can only guess she was away from them for long periods of time for that to happen. Worst part is that I don’t even know how much time she spent at the house. I talked to my neighbors after I returned home who told me that they rarely saw her car parked at my house. My neighbor even introduced herself to my dog sitter and offered to provide her phone number in case anything happened or she needed her to let the dogs out. She declined the number. There was also the fact that there was basically no dog hair in the guest bedroom or guest bed but wads of it in the hallway. Apparently the dog sitter told me the dogs did not stay in the room with her but she left the bedroom door open for them. My youngest dog has slept in bed with every dog sitter I have ever had. I gather by the large amount of hair she closed the door and the dogs waited for her in the upstairs hallway. She then called me towards the end of my vacation letting me know that one of the dogs locked herself in my bedroom. Apparently she went into my bathroom to look for a band aid and the dog locked herself in by mistake. This dog has very stubby legs and would have a very hard time locking the door. Apparently when she woke up and couldn’t find the dog she discovered she locked herself inside overnight. I have a hard time believing that story since the dog chewed the crown molding around the door frame a ripped up carpet in attempt to escape. There is no way the dog sitter would not have heard that if she was sleeping in a room two doors down with the door open. Before attempting the chew her way out there is zero chance the dog wouldn’t be barking to be let out. My guess is that she accidentally closed the dog in the room and left the house for a period of time. Assuming she was actually home the fact that she would not be able to hear a dog in distress is concerning. On top of that she didn’t even tell me about the dog destroying my door and molding. I came home to find wood chipping sand carpet all over. On the plus side I came home to three living dogs.

A typical day

I am a very active person myself so I love to go on walks, runs, hiking, and just be outside. I also love the water, so if your dog also likes the water I wouldn’t mind bringing them to a creek or river for some fetch.
