Pet care experience
I grew up caring for dogs but what makes me a great candidate for dog care is my professional training as a zookeeper. I offer unique skills acquired from working in zoos and aquariums. Working in zoo-keeping has taught me how to give high-quality care to basic needs, meticulous attention to physical/behavioral changes due to illness/injury, and provide enrichment to engage in play for mental and physical health. It is a career built on passion for the care and well-being of animals. I am available Monday-Saturday 6 am-1:30 pm, 5:30-10 pm. I have worked as a trainer for prairie dogs and other smalls mammals. I have taken multiple courses studying behavior as part of my degree. I have worked with all kinds of animals ranging from dogs to horses to otters to prairie dogs. I am passionate about the care for animals, and dogs hold a special place in my life.

Lauren was AWESOME!!! It was the first time I left my adopted shelter dog in 1.5 years. She put me and my pooch at ease! She took him on adventures (chasing balls at the tennis court, jogging, and giving him chew treats that kept his mouth and mind busy)! This doesn't even account for the R-I-D-E he got in her vehicle (one of his all-time favorite things to do!). I think Jax was glad I was home, but I bet money he was missing Lauren (smile!). She posted pics of my baby throughout my time away, which made me miss him "slightly" less. I will DEFINITELY request Lauren again -- HANDS DOWN!!! You can trust Lauren with the love & care of your special pets. As you know, leaving a pet to go to work or on a trip is much like trusting someone with your child when you're away. I am thankful that Lauren has a true love for all types of pets & always took great care of my Lucy. She received special attention that you may not get from boarding. We all want our pets to feel safe & happy with a responsible caregiver. Lauren has that gift!
Lauren has very good ethics and is dependable in her work. She has been working with animals much of her late teens and early twenties. She worked st the Athens zoo snd treated the animals more like pets. She has stayed and dog sat for us. Our dog loves it when she comes. She loves animals!!
Lauren’s passion and talent with animals, in particular dogs, has been evident her entire life.
