I'm the former owner of a beloved dog, who I rescued as a 2-3 month old puppy and cared for until his death at the age of 12. With Jacob, I went through every stage of dog life, from potty-training to the challenges of old age. As difficult as it was to witness my precious puppy grow into an aging dog, I cherished those moments, happy in knowing that I was a comforting presence to him along the way. Over this time period, I have also watched my mother's 110-pound rescue, as well as my brother's two lab-mixes, also rescues, and often all at the same time. Each has come with their own trauma, so I understand the special tendencies and reactions that can come with rescue dogs, such as anxiety and fear-response. As a transplant to New York City from Texas, I'm no longer near my family's dogs, and I miss them, and my Jacob very much. I don't have the space or money to have my own dog here in the city, and so I would love the opportunity to spend time with and care for your dog(s), if you'd allow me the privilege!
