I love animals with all my heart and seek to spend as much time with them as possible. I am very trustworthy and would love the opportunity to gain that trust from you. I will treat your pets with all the respect that you would yourself. A little about me: I enjoy hiking, horseback riding, swimming, skating, skiing, yoga. I also love reading, watching movies, creating art, cooking and baking, camping, listening to music... so many things! I’m also very intrigued by philosophy and psychology – and especially in relation to co-species healing between humans and animals. I would like to share a quote with you from Kindred Spirits by Allen M. Schoen: “The classic definition of healing is to make whole, and if we acknowledge that we are part of nature, being whole means taking advantage of all the opportunities nature provides to calm our soul and spirit. Although science has no definite answers, why not assume that sharing a home with a dog, a cat, or a bird – or sharing our lives with a horse or any other large animal – has therapeutic benefits that are deeper than simple stimulation of the opiate receptors in the skin through touch? Perhaps, through our connection with animals, we are stimulating some deeply buried aspect of nature within us, rekindling a lost connection that allows us to be more than solitary creatures, but part of something greater – and therefore more healthy, more whole.” I understand how much your pet means to you. And because of this, I make sure to give them the care they deserve. I also do what I can to ease your worries while you are gone by sending little updates and photos as often as you prefer. Through my experience, I have found pets do really well when they keep their familiar surroundings. This familiarity allows them the confidence to more easily accept a different human caring for them in your absence. AREAS COVERED I live in the Mission area and work in West Kelowna, so I am offering services anywhere on the west side, and locations in Kelowna that are within the downtown to lower mission areas. MEET & GREET This is a free meeting to give you, your pets and myself, a chance to get acquainted. These meetings are best held in your home where you can show me around and introduce me to your pet and their schedule.
