Caretaker with Vet Med Experience!
Pet care experience
I am 24-years-old with a B.S. in Zoology. I used to work at an animal hospital and am currently coaching gymnastics. Also, I have volunteered at the Humane Society in Munster, IN, and Madison, WI, as a dog handler and animal caretaker, and the NWI Chinchilla Rescue in Hammond, IN. Currently, I own 1 dog (a 8-year-old terrier/pug) a fish tank, 3 cats, and a bearded dragon! I love spending time with animals of all shapes, and sizes, so I can't wait to meet you and your furry friends! -DOG WALKING: When it comes to energetic dogs, I am a very athletic person who is very capable of taking your dog(s) on jogs or fast-paced walks outside. Also, if your dog loves balls or frisbees, I can take them out to the backyard and tire them out that way. Whatever way your dog likes to run-off energy, I am capable of doing it! If your dog is a little less active, I can also just do leisurely walks so your dog can still have fun sniffing the fresh air! -HOUSE/PET SITTING: (NOT CURRENTLY DOING) Throughout the years, I have owned a variety of animals. Not only do I have experience with dogs and cats, but I also am capable of watching and caring for hamsters/gerbils, guinea pigs, chinchillas, hedgehogs, fish, rats, lizards, and turtles. However, just because I have not owned an animal, it doesn't mean I'm not capable of learning. If you show me what your pet needs/likes, I am definitely able to quickly learn! I am capable of cleaning cages, taking care of your animals basic wants/needs, playing with your animals, taking care of plants, giving baths, training your dogs, or just laying around with your animals and giving them the snuggles they need while you're away. Also, I am capable of giving oral or injectable medications or accommodating to special diets/restrictions. No matter what you or your pets need while you're away, I am capable and excited to help! -DROP-IN VISITS: During drop-in visits, I am very flexible. I can feed, play, walk, or bathe your animals for you. I can also administer oral and injectable medications if your pet is in need of those. Anything you need, I am here to help! -AVAILABILITY: My availability is extremely flexible all weekend to do dog walks and drop-in visits anytime! My week day availability is anytime between 7am-3pm!
Reviews
Lauren was a great sitter, especially with my 10 month old husky who can be independent and stubborn at times. She came by to walk Wolfie twice, once with her own dog and once alone. Wolfie clearly seemed tired when I got home, even after being in the crate for a few hours past her leaving. She did a great job and was communicative throughout. Thanks!
Thank you so much for dealing with a dog that might typically be called “aggressive” will definitely book you again if the need ever arises.
Lauren always takes such good care of our young Bernedoodle, who can be a little difficult to walk at times! It is clear that Lauren is wonderful with all types of dogs and we are lucky to have found her.
Lauren was amazing. Our dog was so happy with her!!! She sent so many pictures, and always stayed in touch. We would recommend her to anyone, and will be having her stay with our dog again :)

I am able to drop into homes to care for your pets and I have a lot of experience from working in a vet clinic. I can administer all types of medication and am able to follow any instructions given to me about your pet. Ultimately you are the pet’s owner and I would love to make them feel just as loved as you do!
Information Lauren D. would like to know about your pet
I like to know the following about your dog: -age -temperament -breed -dog friendly? -people friendly? -How often do they eat and how much/what are they fed? -How often do they go outside for bathroom breaks? -What are words you use with your dog for training purposes (if any)? (down, off, no, good, etc.) -special requirements? (diet, medicine, etc.) -Emergency contact information (vet, family member, etc.) -crate-trained or no? -anything else you think I should know I have no breed preferences! However, I do have dogs at home, so if you don't think your dog will like that smell on me when I come, please let me know.
A typical day
I am open to do whatever your dog likes best, whether that is frisbees, balls, tug-of-war, walks, or just getting some snuggles and belly scratches. Every dog is different, so it's really up to the dog with what activity they get to enjoy while I'm staying with him/her. Usually I take dogs on walks around the neighborhoods, switching up the routes so the dog doesn't get bored or used to a particular route. This keeps the dog excited every time they go on a walk with me because they always get to see and sniff something new!
