Pet care experience
I love all kinds of dogs! I have spent the past ten years as the primary caretaker of my own dog, a ten year old yellow lab, and offering to take care of friends dogs, including a 100-lb husky mix, a Burmese mountain dog, and my grandma's terrier pups. I believe in positive affirmation rather than punishment in training, and I love seeing how happy a pup gets when they see the leash for a nice walk. I truly care about all dogs and want to see them all smiling, which is why I am so excited to get started with Rover and make sure every dog gets a walk, some love, and a whole lot of happiness when I am caring for them. I have housesat with and without dogs present so I am proven to be reliable and responsible in that regard as well.

So happy to have Lauren as a longtime dog sitter for my pooches Humphrey, Charlie, and Maggie. Humphrey is a 2 year old BMG so he is a huge pup full of love. He has a little case of epilepsy so we are relieved to know we can trust Lauren with him when we are away. Charlie and Maggie are small terrier-type pups who are hitting middle age, we think around 7 and 6 years old, but they have the energy for two walks a day and lots of play time - something Lauren is great about scheduling into her days when she is over. This gives us the flexibility to get out of town for the weekend or longer trips without putting our pups in a kennel or having to bug a family member. Lauren is always very happy to spend time with our dogs and they love having her over!

No breed preferences but I do like to know how social the dog is with other pups, so I can be alert if necessary when we are out together.
A typical day
If a pup can handle hikes, I am familiar with many trails of different rigor that we can enjoy together. If not, a walk around the block or neighborhood can do just fine. If a dog is social and healthy, I am happy to take it over to the park for some sunshine and outdoor fun.
