I have moved with my husband and 2 children to Virginia from the UK and desperately missing having a pet to care for in our home. As we are only is the states for the next couple of years we are looking at ways in which we can care for animals without having one long term. Both my husband and I grew up with animals - my husband had dogs and I had cats and then as a family we have had cats that my children have grown up with. We have taken care of friend’s dogs in the UK and therefore feel very confident being given the responsibility to care for dogs whilst out here. We can provide the perfect set up at the moment as we are renting a large home with secure outdoor garden space and access to lovely walks. I am not working currently and therefore home the majority of the day and can provide the care, attention and love that animals need. I worked as a cognitive behavioural therapist in the UK and I believe that the skills required to do my job well including showing care, compassion, empathy are equally reflected in the way I treat and spend time with animals.
