Pet care experience
I am a zoology/Pre-veterinarian major! I have over a year of volunteering experience at Oxford Veterinarian and have been around all types of dogs and cats! I have worked at Oxford Kennel and Boarding! I have owned either a dog or cat since I was a child and have always found ways to be around them! I have dog-walked, dog-sat, and have boarded dogs before for more than a week as well!

I have a 6-month-old cat that does very well with other cats and dogs! I have a doggy-door on my side of the apartment so that I can make sure whoever I am watching can stay within watching distance! I also have space to crate any pet if wanted or needed! I never leave pets alone for longer than 2-4 hours. It is my personal preference that they are able to go to the restroom on a regular basis and get exercise as well! I feed all pets separately from any other pets within the household (mine or another) just to make sure each pet eats their food fully unless owner says it is ok to feed together! I have a dog park right next door to my apartment complex and have a car that I am able to drive them to the dog park or to other places where they can run around, or I can take them for a nice walk!

It is important that I know the temperament of your dog well. How is your dog with playing with other dogs? Do you like other dogs? Are they scared of other dogs? Do they prefer to play with people more than dogs? Is it better to keep them away from other dogs completely? What type of games does your dog like to play? Do they prefer to play with squeaky toys, play fetch, or are they more of a lounge around outside type of dog. It is important for me to know what your dog is like around other people and other dogs so that I do not place your dog or another dog in a bad situation! I also want to make sure your dog(s) enjoy their time with me and can have the most fun possible without stressing them out in any way!
A typical day
I personally love to take dogs on long walks and give them a chance to play and have exercise! I love to also take dogs to dog parks and let them run around and play with other dogs or to play with them myself even!! Houston woods is one of my favorite spots to take dogs for walks or to the beach (but not near the water)! I also know some great hiking trails that are good for big or small dogs!

Availability
I only work part-time, and my class schedule only lasts for a few hours each day and then I'm free most of the day! I also am available at night since I only work till 6 most days and I am able to watch overnight since I am a student and am not out of town often at all!
