Pet care experience
I have had animals my whole life, and ever since I was a little girl I have had a special bond with every animal I meet, regardless of size, age, or even species! Even wild animals have approached me and feel safe with me. I have never met a stranger when it comes to animals. Growing up I always had dogs, cats, fish, and at one point a hamster! By the time I turned 10 neighbors and family friends started hiring me to pet sit while they were away on vacation. I can do very basic obedience training with dogs (sit and wait politely for food, sit and wait at the door, etc). I can also perform medical care on any pet that needs special care. I know how to administer shots, dress wounds, and give medication. If you have an elderly or otherwise special needs pet, I will take the best care of him/her! Today I am living out my dream of living on a homestead! We have 3 dogs, barn cats, a flock of Rhode Island Red chickens and a “bachelor flock” of 3 rescue roosters. All of my animals are members of my family, and I will treat yours with the same love and respect. If you have chickens that need care, I am more than happy to help! When I have time I love giving chickens the full spa treatment— warm bath, Epsom salts, light exfoliation of the legs and feet, and moisturizer on comb and wattles. You can see in my photo gallery pictures from when I bathed and administered first aid to my friend’s rooster who had been in a fight. I am happy to farm sit, walk and feed your dogs, feed cats and clean litter boxes, and take care of medical needs of all your animals. I look forward to caring for your animals!

Laura was amazing! So engaging with my two pups, stayed overnight for 2 nights with them while I traveled. She stayed in touch and took pictures often to keep me from worrying so much. Laura took care of my farm animals while I was in the hospital with the birth of my second child. She went above and beyond even taking one of my sick goats that had fallen sick to the vet. She is so gifted with animals and has the kindest heart. I can't recommend her enough to care for your hairy or feathered babies!
Laura is an amazing person. She absolutely loves animals and cares for them like they are part of her family. Her experience with all animals is top notch but she has a special knack with chickens. It's almost as if she speaks and they understand. I would trust Laura with any animal. From pet sitting mice to feeding and walking a Great Dane, Laura will give your precious pet her very best ❤️

When I arrive at your house I will quietly greet the dog(s) and take them out to take care of their business. If you want me to feed them, we will come back inside, I will have them sit and wait while I prepare their food. Once they finish eating we will go back outside. If you have a fully fenced yard and you give permission, I will let the dog out off lead to run off energy and play. If you do not have a fenced in yard, I will walk the dog out on lead, and given permission I will take the dog on a longer walk around the neighborhood. Any special needs your pets have I will carefully and skillfully follow. I will change bandages, administer shots, administer medication, etc. If you want me to bathe your pet I am more than happy to do so, whether it’s livestock or your dog! I am comfortable with any size, age, or temperament animal; none are too small or too big for me!

A typical day
Up to you! I would be more than happy to take them out for a hike and/or a swim! We’ll play with toys, walk around the neighborhood, and work on basic training for good manners!

Availability
I am currently available every day. During the day I won’t be able to stay full time at your house, as I need to be able to go back to my house to care for my own pets and family, but I will have time to drop in as needed to feed, water, walk, and play with your animals and administer anything else they need. I would schedule it for the same time every day so that your animals would be comfortable.
