Best Pal for Your Best Pal

Pet care experience

I bring to the table a first-hand understanding that dogs are a truly a part of one’s family. Not all dogs are equipped for the traditional boarding environment which often lacks the comforts and human interaction they have at home. I am prepared to give your furry family member a safe and comfortable home, a watchful eye at your home, or a patient walking buddy so that you can have peace of mind while you’re not able to be at home with them. Losing our sweet pup Walt to kidney failure in 2021 shortly after his 10th birthday has left a dog-shaped hole in my heart. Helping care for your dog would be a treasured milestone on the way to mending my broken heart. One the pet parents I’ve dog sat for previously called me and my husband ‘unicorns’ - two folks who are home all week and who love dogs but have no dog of our own. I am happy to be your pup’s unicorn, and provide them with a magical care experience.

Laura was fantastic - from the initial meet and greet to the wonderful updates and photos she sent while we were away. She made us feel like Frodo was having a vacation of his own! Laura asked all the right questions and made sure we were aware of anything that seemed like it might be a little off. Wonderful communication throughout our trip. We will definitely contact Laura the next time we need a sitter!

Laura was so great with Marnie! She was so sweet and easy to communicate with. I instantly felt comfortable dropping off the pup and was able to enjoy my weekend getaway worry free!

Safety, trust & environment

Depending on the needs of your pup for boarding at my home, I can offer an environment that ensures their comfort throughout their stay and at bedtime (whether that be in a crate, a gated area of our home, in our bedroom, or free-range). My home does not have a fenced yard which means a minimum of 3 or 4 walks a day for potty time (or more depending on your pet’s specific needs). Regardless of the sitting arrangement - my home or yours - I know how important stability and routine are to a pup’s mental well-being and I am prepared to take your lead to maintain a steady environment while you’re away. For dog walking arrangements, I am happy to be your pup’s trusted pal to meet them where their energy is. If that’s a slow gentle walk, I’m there! If it’s an energetic playful walk, I’m there, too!

Information Laura S. would like to know about your pet

It is important for me to know your dog’s cue words and any specific needs, preferences, or triggers they might have. For boarding at my home, I want to make sure your best pal is as comfy at my home as they are at yours so details about their routine and creature comforts would be helpful, too!

A typical day

A typical day with me and your pup would involve exploring the neighborhood during walks, playing with their favorite toys, belly rubs if they ask for them, saying ‘Good dog’ on repeat, singing silly songs where I incorporate their name or personality traits, and lots of love and care in between!
