I am a very reliable, friendly and loyal person. Your pet's safety is my first priority followed closely by making sure they are comfortable and happy! I have lots of amateur experience taking care of my family's dogs and cat. Growing up we always had at least one dog in the house along with my cat. I've trained horses my whole life and worked closely with a dog trainer to train my 4 y.o. Rhodesian Ridgeback to Service Dog standards. I am studying dog-training as I am considering doing more work as a dog-trainer in the future. I love helping dogs grow in their training through positive reinforcement. I am willing to support you in your training techniques and am also excited to just spend more time with animals in general when I am not on the road for business trips.

Laura has watched my pup, Archie, several times while I was away ranging from a weekend to several weeks. She is always the first person that comes to mind when I have something come up as I know that she treats Archie the way that she treats her own. She ensures that Archie gets tons of mental and physical activity and helps reinforce his training throughout their interaction. Her own dog, Rhodhi, is working on his Service Dog training and it seems that every time Archie sees Laura, he comes back as a better trained pup and sleeps like a rock. She has taken him on walks, hikes, and swims - There isn't anybody I would trust more than Laura with him. She sends me videos of anything they worked on and let's me know if there is anything that I need to be concerned about such as interactions with other dogs, people, etc. It's her own version of the doggy report card :)
Laura has watched my dog and my wife's cat for over a week while we were on vacation. She is kind, considerate, responsible, and communicative. I would highly recommend her for any pet sitting, training, or animal care.
Laura has taken care of my dog numerous times. She is wonderful to him; exercising him, feeding him according to instructions, and grooming and loving on him. He has back problems and after she massages his back, (a hidden perk), he is obviously more comfortable! I have also observed her caring for large breed puppies (my dog is a small breed 5 year old with anxiety). She was very intuitive with them, setting boundaries and quickly establishing her authority as she gave them superb exercise. She obviously knows her way around the canine world!

A typical day
I am happy to follow your guidelines. I'd be glad to take them to a dog park for socialization if you approve. Leashed walks are always a pleasure. I live in a spacious 2 bedroom basement-turned apartment with direct access to our fenced in yard. I prefer to have guest dogs stay in a crate if I need to leave them alone in the house, but can work with you to find the best option for your dog, including having them join me in the car if the weather and errands permit.
