Pet care experience
My love of animals started early in life. Growing up, we always had a family dog and even lived on a farm for a few years. Feeding and caring for a barn full of goats, dogs, sheep, cats, and ducks taught me to be responsible and to pay attention to the details! As an adult, I also spent time in upstate New York as a farm intern. I have experience with specific feeding needs and providing necessary medication. I now have my own dog, Oliver, who has been described as a magical unicorn fluff dog. I am working towards him becoming a therapeutic volunteer dog. We live in animal friendly apartment right on the Trinity River. Oliver loves to make new friends and will have no problem with overnight dog guests! Rain, snow, or sun, I will make sure your pet is thriving and feeling loved under my watch!

Laura was amazing and took care of my dog just like her own! I was so nervous to board Milo and thankfully I found Laura days before my trip and she made my trip stress free. She is so so great and I would definitely recommend her to anyone!

Laura has taken care of several of our Great Pyrenees dogs over the past years. She is responsible, gentle, fun loving and truly enjoys animals as a whole! Laura has a kind heart and is very sensitive to the feelings of her pets. In the past she has been involved with many farm animals and has vast experience! She has an incredibly peaceful disposition and has a calming presence with both dogs and people. She is truly lovable and takes care of all dogs as if they are her own! I have seen her many times curled up on the floor cuddling and hugging our dogs! They love her and are thrilled when she comes over!

In any home, I would prioritize doors being closed, water and food filled properly before leaving, making sure there are no accidental messes left in the house. I like to be sure I have everything checked off my list just like I would do for my own dog.

I think it is important to know how your pet feels about new people and the best way to meet them so they feel comfortable with a new person in their home. Do they have any unusual habits? I don't have a problem with any breeds as long as the individual dog is pretty friendly to a new person. I have a large dog so I am used to large animals. Are there any situations where your dog seems to be more aggressive towards people or other animals? Does your dog have any special needs?
A typical day
I will spend my time with your pet walking or playing, depending on the weather and what your pet wants to do! depending on the time of day and the weather, it may be too hot or rainy for a long walk so we can always play with toys, a bit of brushing, or some belly rubs.

Availability
My schedule is pretty flexible so I will be sure to make myself available during the times that I have a pet in my care. I like to live by the saying that we should treat others how we would like to be treated. I know I would want my dog to be taken care of during the proper times if I was the one needing pet care.
