Pet care experience
I pride myself on my experience level and knowledge on animals, especially dogs. I've raised and trained my own dog since I was 12. I've dog sat for friends and family on various occasions, including a home of 8 large-breed dogs. I have worked at a local animal shelter, where I still volunteer. I am going to be taking classes and doing training to become a veterinarian. With my experience so far, I am confident in my ability to handle a dog in any sort of situation. I'm familiar with breaking up dog fights and how to respond to a dog that is aggressive towards me. I'm patient yet stern when working with / training dogs, and am always willing to figure out what works for them. I am able to assert myself when needed, and I am also able to calm them down in a stressful situation. All that said, the most important thing is... I love dogs.. big puppers, small doges, pit puppies, poodle babies, chihuahua beans... all the doggies. I love every dog I come across, and I'd love to love yours too. <3
Reviews
Laura is amazing with animals! She treats them so well and goes the extra mile to take care of them. She's given my dog ear drops, dental chews, combed mats out of her fur, trimmed her nails, and more! I will for sure book Laura on Rover in the future! (I've booked her thru mutual friends on Facebook)
One of the few people I've meet who have put there heart and soul into loving animals. She loves and cares for dogs in a way that not many people are able to and that is truly special.

We have a fenced in yard and a lead that reaches in the door so no dog will step outside of the house without safely being secured on the lead or a leash. The dog will be allowed free range in the house(it's small) outside of the bedroom. They will be allowed on the sofa, so long as I have a cover on it. Sleeping wise, they will not be in the bedroom and will, preferably, be in a kennel in our living room overnight. If the owner and/or dog dislikes the crate, I will make up the pull-out bed and sleep with the dog on the bed in the living room. Meet and Greets are a must.

Information Laura J. would like to know about your pet
1. Temperament- how are they around dogs, children, cats, people, etc. I need to be completely aware of what to expect if I plan to take a dog to a public place like a park. 2. Your knowledge of your pet- how long have you had them, if you got them as a puppy or from a shelter or a friend etc., what is their training history, how socialized are they, do they have any bites on record, etc. 3. Dietary and Medical needs- I do ask that you provide your dog with enough food for their stay with specific feeding instructions (how many cups per feeding, how many feedings a day, what time of day etc.) I will need similar instructions for any oral medications they need, as well as a sufficient amount of the medication(s) to be provided. 4. Are their shots up to date? What shots? Any and all information about your animal is helpful and welcome. <3
A typical day
We play in the yard or go for a walk around the block. If the owner is fine with it and the dog isn't freaked out about it, I like to take pets to PetLand and get them a small treat and meet some of the lovely staff there. When it's nice out, going to a park or walking trail is ideal fun-day plans!

Daily: I wake up around 7:00-7:30am and let the dogs outside. Once they are back inside, I get them food and make sure they have fresh water. Depending on the dog, I will play with them, lay with them, or just let them do their thing. I'd let them out every hour or two and feed them again in the evening. (feeding may vary depending on owner(s)'s instructions.) We usually try to go for a walk around the block every evening, but sometimes we don't manage. Weekly: I am home all day thru out the week. My fiance works 9 hour shifts on weekdays. With our schedule, the home is never left unattended.
