Pet care experience
I’ve been caring for animals all of my life, most experience being with cats and dogs (also: birds, bunnies, ferrets, fish, gerbils, hamsters, horses, snakes, turtles, and probably some others I’m forgetting). I have experience with dogs of all sizes —Yorkies to Danes— ages —pups to seniors, and energy levels — slothful Bassets to relentless Border Collies. I have experience with anxious dogs and can administer meds and trim nails. I’ve successfully (patiently and positively) trained pups.

Please let me know if your dog has any special needs or personality traits I should be prepared for e.g. agitation or aggression toward dogs/people on walks, reactivity, etc. Even knowing your dog's dislikes will be helpful (I've cared for dogs who've had opinions about: hats, tall people, unfamiliar men, rain, etc.).
A typical day
I'll follow your dog's lead. If you have a pup who wants to throw the ball for 45 minutes, great, we'll have a blast! If you have a dog who wants to go outside, do their business and return to the couch, great, we'll have a blast! I'm happy to play with toys, romp, load treat puzzles, go for walks as long as your dog likes (bearing in mind your dog's weather preferences), play with communication buttons (if that's your pup's thing), and of course scritches and love (if that's your pup's thing -- and I hope it is).

Availability
I am working M-W through mid-June, 2024 and occasional Saturdays all year. This leaves me mostly free Thursdays through Sundays in spring to care for your pets. My summer availability will increase.
