Pet care experience
While I'm still dreaming of adopting a dog of my own (apt doesn't allow pets), I love any excuse to spend time with friends' and families' pets and I always look forward to sitting gigs! I grew up with dogs and have always loved animals so so much. Since age 12, friends, family and neighbors have trusted me to care for (feed, walk, run, play, and supervise) their beloved doggos. I'm also a runner/triathlete and am more than happy to run rather than walk your higher energy dogs for 1-3 miles upon request. I am a responsible, reliable and communicative pet sitter who loves to share photo updates during sittings. Animals and nature have always held a special place in my heart and I promise to love and care for your pet as if they were my own while under my care. <3
Reviews
Laura has been super great! She walked my Lily weekly for months and took great care of her. I was always sure she was in good hands. Thanks so much Laura!
Laura is the consummate dog/house sitter: trustworthy, dependable, kind, and dog-savvy. My anxious cattle dog bonded quickly with Laura, with no issues whatsoever! I was able to leave town with no worries, and to enjoy my time away. Thanks, Laura!
Laura did a WODNERFUL job with our dog Boulder. She made sure to ask lots of questions about his routine and genuinely cared that he would be as comfortable as possible while we were gone. She even stayed home with him on the evening of July 4 since the fireworks scare him. She sent us pictures every day and an update each morning and evening. We've never felt as comfortable with a Rover as we did Laura. We will always check to see if she can look after our fur baby before asking anyone else. 100% recommend!!
My Lily loves Laura! I know she’s in good hands when with her. I always get plenty of pics and a descriptive overview in my rover cards!

My ecommerce business gives my schedule great flexibility, and I am happy to accept house sittings wherein I can spend 75-90% of the time keeping your dog company, providing play/potty breaks, walks, and runs (if you'd like) and working remotely from my laptop when not on walks or outside breaks. While I plan to spend as much time as possible with your dog, I need to be able to leave them for 1-2 hours at a time during house-sittings if something comes up. I will collect your mail and water your plants if you'd like while you're away and do my best to leave your home cleaner than I found it.
Information Laura H. would like to know about your pet
I highly recommend scheduling a meet and greet before booking so as to help both you and your dog be as comfortable as possible with our relationship and so I can best understand your pets' needs and your own expectations. I would like to know your dog's general temperament toward both people and other dogs/cats, if they have any injuries or physical limitations I should be aware of, where they are allowed in your home, whether you'd like me to run or just walk them, and any other special circumstances I should be aware of.
A typical day
Depending on what is near your home, I would love to take your dog to the beach for a walk or run on one of our beautiful trails, or for playtime at a local park. In particular, I love walking on our local open space bluff trails like Ellwood, More Mesa, and the Douglass Preserve :) I always aim to provide playtime and social connection during potty breaks rather than just wait for the pup to do their business and head back inside.

On the side, I run my own ecommerce businesses which allows me to work anywhere I have my laptop with me, about 75% of the time. My apartment doesn't allow pets but I am available for house-sitting in your home, dog-walking, and drop-ins on most weekdays and some weekends.
