My name is Laura. I've been a pet parent for 15 years, caring for 3 different dogs, puppies and seniors included. I was blessed to spend 13 years with Tirk, a gentle but spunky puggle who passed away last February. I now live with a 6 year old terrier named Honey Velvet. I was a social worker for 5 years and decided to "retire" in order to live a more balanced life centering my relationships and health. I am frequently at home with an occasional outing (2-6 hrs). I believe in treating animals with respect and providing a healthy environment/lifestyle. This means attentiveness, ample exercise/playtime and keeping the water bowl fresh. Honey and I like to go on long walks (about 3 miles) in the park across the street. He wants to meet EVERY dog and frequently stops to play. Honey responds to cues from other dogs about how to play. He can get rambunctious or be more relaxed based on his friends preferences. He also spends a lot of time in the backyard: chasing squirrels, chewing sticks and sunbathing.
