3rd yr vet student. Can give meds!

Pet care experience

I am a 3rd year University of Tennessee veterinary student looking for extra summer work. I am comfortable will all sizes and breeds of dogs. This summer I am available for dog walking, feeding, and medications. I can also help with cats or any other companion exotic species (hamsters, rats, ferrets, rabbits, birds etc.). I will make sure to clean up after them, play with them, and keep them happy. I have two dogs myself, one being a senior and another which requires daily medications twice a day. I understand if your senior pets needs a little more patience and care and I am also comfortable administering medications including insulin. If you have any questions do not hesitate to contact me and I look forward to hearing from you!

I was very lucky to find Laura when my previous pet-sitter unexpectedly quit. Laura was able to meet with me very quickly and took over Coco's walks right away. Coco is a young and energetic dog, and not everyone is comfortable dealing with a dog of Coco's size. Laura had no problem, and I felt very confident having her as Coco's caregiver. Laura was also easy to communicate with and gave me regular updates on how Coco was doing on her walks. I would highly recommend Laura as a pet-sitter.

About two years ago, one of my cats (Cirrus) was diagnosed with diabetes, and controlling her blood glucose level requires twice daily injections of insulin. The first time we had to leave her, I showed a couple of neighbors how to do the injections. We came back from vacation to find that things had not gone well. Cirrus tried to hide from the neighbors and was aggressive toward them whenever they tried to approach her. When we needed to leave Cirrus again, we knew we needed someone else to care for her, and we selected Laura for the job. Laura has years of animal training and experience (both personal and professional), and that really showed in her care for our cats. She was kind and extremely patient with Cirrus, especially those first couple of days when Cirrus was more scared and aggressive. Laura did a wonderful job caring for our cats, for all of their needs, including insulin injections. That required trips to our house twice per day, and she never missed an appointment. She not only took care of the essentials (food, water, litter box) but went above and beyond to sit with them and pet them for a bit. She has watched the cats for us on several occasions now, and I would hire her again in a heartbeat! Laura takes great care of her own dogs (and my cats), and I'm sure she'll take great care of your pets!
