After wishing each Christmas since the age of 5 for a dog and ending up with stuffed animals, I was presented with a darling cocapoo one morning. He was to be known as 'Muffin'...I know (mom named him but refuses to own up to it). Loved him for 14 good years. Since then, I have worked at a dog boarding facility and taken on another dog of my own. During my time working in dog boarding, I became more proficient at reading dog behavior. I learned when to be patient and when to intervene. Some clients had dogs on feeding regimen requiring weighing, mixing, adding, and separating any number of probiotics, enzymes, and pumpkin purée. Not a problem. I have given meds via mouths and eyes. Insulin would be new to me. I've even collected fecal samples. As far as walking dogs, there's nothing I would rather do with a K9 than hike or walk, unless it's the lounging that comes after. I feel confident that I can relate to your four legged friend in a way that makes sense to them, and that above all, is caring. I'm looking forward to meeting them!
