Your pup's adventure buddy

Pet care experience

*we're regularly booked out about 2 months these days, so please contact me well in advance of any trips to guarantee a spot!* **We cater to little dogs and usually only accept dogs under 25 lbs or so, but make exceptions for extremely well-mannered bigger dogs who are very gentle with little dogs and already socialized to cats.** I'm home all day and offer a safe, loving, fun environment, where each day includes at least one big adventure--rain or shine, summer or winter, nothing keeps me and my dog Coco away from the trails! Check us out on Instagram @pupadventurebuddies New to Rover? Use code TUGBOD47026 to get $20 off your first booking. 😄 My husband, Ryan, and I both grew up with dogs and have always loved them. I've got years of experience working at a doggy daycare/boarding facility, where my days consisted mostly of playing with, training, and bathing dogs, as well as having discussions with clients about the expectations they had for their dog and any goals they might have. I loved it so much that I stayed all through college and until our first son was born. These days, I'm a stay at home mom of two boys (10 & 12), a brittany spaniel named Coco, and a cat named Dax. I typically have 1 or 2 dogs over at any given time and I very rarely accept more than 4. Dogs are pack animals, not herd animals, and in my experience, are happiest in small groups. I am absolutely not in the volume business, but the business of spoiling pups rotten and making sure everyone has a safe, awesome time. :D

Laura took the best care of our pup, Luna! Luna got lots of great exercise hiking with other doggy buddies. My kids enjoyed watching Laura's Instagram stories of our dog's activities while we were gone, too. I almost think Luna didn't want to come home.

Laura is the absolute BEST! I don’t worry about Peaches & Molly at all when they’re with her. She is amazing at communicating & posting pics several times a day.

Roxy stayed another night with Laura and my impression remains just as great as my last review indicated. I forgot to mention in my last review that Laura picked up and dropped off my dog from my house for a round trip price of $25. It was a no brainer for me to have that taken care of when I was busy packing/unpacking. I love knowing how happy Roxy is when she’s with Laura. If there’s any flaw at all with Laura’s service, it’s that Roxy’s excitement to come back home to me was tempered by her affection for Laura. She ran back over to Laura a few times, obviously sad to say goodbye. That’s a flaw I’ll gladly take, I think Roxy felt so comfortable at Laura’s it’s like a second home to her now.

Information Laura E. would like to know about your pet

I only accept dogs who exhibit zero aggression towards kids or other dogs. My clients trust me to keep their little pups absolutely safe in a free range environment, so if your furry friend struggles with behavioral issues that could potentially put others at risk, I'm afraid my home won't be a good fit. Most of the dogs who stay with us these days are lapdogs who love hanging out and adventuring with people and other dogs all day. ❤️ To ensure everyone's safety, I require all dogs to be fully vaccinated and current on all vaccinations--the only exceptions to this are young puppies and dogs with rare health conditions which preclude certain vaccines. Please message me a photo or screenshot of your pup's vaccine history prior to dropping them off (this makes things go much more smoothly than just trying to remember to bring a copy at drop off). We play in rivers and streams almost daily (when the current isn't too strong), so please let me know if you don't want your pet to come into contact with open water for any reason. High-drive hunting and working-line breeds and mixes (pointers, boxers, shepherds, etc) must already be socialized to cats, and be very gentle with small dogs to stay here. Does your dog do better off leash on hikes but you're worried they might not stick with a new person the same way they do with you? Let me know! I have multiple options to ensure they stay absolutely safe--from keeping them on my 30 ft long line, to letting them wear one of my professional-grade GPS tracker collars, which I always have on hand because Coco has been known to follow her nose after deer and other wild critters from time to time. Safety is always my top priority, but big adventures followed by pup snuggles make for a very close second and third. Other than that, please let me know of any special needs your dog might have and I'll do my best to accommodate them. If you are planning on boarding and your dog is crate trained, please bring their crate along with them. I do have an extra crate available if needed, but in my experience, dogs feel much more comfortable in their own crate. If your pet always sleeps great without a crate, they're welcome to sleep in our bedroom with us or one of our kids' rooms. Feel free to bring their favorite bed or blanket too! Pick up/drop off hours are between 7am and 9pm.

A typical day

I am home full time and whenever I run occasional errands like grocery pickups or taking my kids to activities, I usually just bring the dogs along. In the rare cases where that's not possible, I will do my best to simulate what you do with your dog when you have to leave them home for short periods. Bed time in the crate always includes a frozen Kong stuffed with dog food at no extra charge (I'm also happy to soak some of your pup's food and stuff/freeze the kong with it if there are worries of an upset stomach). I have a large, fully fenced back yard and I usually let dogs have free roam of the house. During the warmer months, I typically leave the back door open for pups to take potty breaks as they please. If you feel your pet needs a bit more direct supervision, there is a baby gate available that I can put up to ensure they're always right with me. Either way, your dog will have regular access to our big, shady backyard and the chance to go out on a big adventure every morning.

Availability

I usually spend my mornings in the mountains with Coco, who needs to put in a lot of "work" every day, mostly involving hiking, swimming, and running, but there's also a good deal of fetch and games like hide 'n seek with the kids going on around here too. We're always finding new ways to have fun and it's even better to work as a pack, so if this is the kind of thing your dog loves too, we can't wait to have fun adventures together!
