I treat every dog I encounter as if it were my own. Dogs tend to gravitate to me as I am very loving and attentive, especially when it comes to pups who may be a little shy or have a previous history of trauma. My dog Cyrus, who passed 4 years ago, had a history of trauma prior to me adopting him. He was a pitbull that was used as their bait dog (dog fighting). I believe, due to my nurturance and love, he never displayed any aggressive behaviors and I was able to build his confidence and sense of safety. I find it important to assert boundaries while also showering our furry friends with love. My husband and I have since adopted a sweet, loving and playful girl named Raven who is about 18 months old. Dogs cannot get enough of the doggy massages I give. If you have a less rambunctious, senior dog or perhaps more of a lap dog, I make a great interim companion, too.
