Quirky & non-quirky animals welcome
Pet care experience
I've owned animals most of my life but am currently pet-free, which means I am happy to get some borrowed love from your animals when you're away. I've cared for quirky dogs, including my own autistic dog, sitting for elderly animals that need special care and regular medication, and helping to reinforce training. I'm happy to be cuddly with animals on the bed and furniture or cuddle with them on the floor. I have three years of consistent pet-sitting experience for friends and acquaintances but decided to use Rover to expand my pet care.

Laura was great. She sent pics of the dogs regularly and I never worried while she was here I highly recommend!
Laura did great especially on short notice! I will definitely hire again if she’s up for my rascals again!!
Laura was good with Rip. She was very punctual. Will definitely use her again.

I always defer first to the pet owner what they want and what will make them and their animal most comfortable. With my previous pets I enjoyed cuddling on the couch and in bed, so don't mind if your animal is used to being furniture-bound. I like to take a stroll with dogs each time we go out so it's not such a quick trip to get some of their and my energy out. I've had dogs in apartments and houses so am used to the differences that come with each. If possible, I think dog parks are a great way to have leash-free fun as well to make up for my less spectacular ball-throwing skills. Ideally, I want to be amongst your pet's best friends by the end of the experience so they are less stressed when you're away.
Information Laura C. would like to know about your pet
Let me know if your pet has any special needs including medications or problems like arthritis, I'm happy to accommodate. A quick rundown of your pet routine will help them be less stressed when you're away and help me stick to your schedule and good habits. If there is anything you would like me to reinforce such as potty training or tricks I'm happy to do so. Don't be shy about quirky animals; if your dog gets scared of paper towels or has a vendetta against a neighborhood dog that's good to know.
A typical day
I will take the dog for at least one good walk a day and try to have play time either at a dog park or with toys at home. Less high-energy dogs will also be welcome to quiet petting and cuddles during the day.

Availability
I'm currently working on my PhD which means I am home studying most of the day but do go to campus for my own teaching and classes, which are in less than 3 hour chunks. Weekends I may go out to meet with friends, but never for more than 4 hours at a time and can adjust to animal needs.
