She has a history of finding strays and bringing them home until their owners can be found -- or in one case, a new forever home. She also prioritizes supporting animal rescues, and often volunteers at shelters, rescues, and adoption events. Laura has raised and trained dogs since she was four, and has taken a variety of training, agility, and show courses with her Aussies. She also earned money throughout her school career by pet sitting when friends and family left town. She's owned or fostered dogs with medical and behavior issues, so she has a few tricks up her sleeve when it comes to those quirks. She never fails to win even the most reserved dog over with her love and patience (and maybe a few treats!). Laura & Marvin's Home-Away-From-Home Services Your dog(s) will love our fully fenced 1/3 acre home in Falls Church. We are STRICTLY a one family at a time operation, so you know your dog(s) will be the center of our attention. We adjust to fit your dogs' needs and preferences, whether that be access to the yard, playtime, or walks. Meet our pets Senna, Australian Shepherd (dog) Rue, Siberian (cat) Zara, American Shorthair (cat) Mogli, American Shorthair (cat) About our yard Our 1/3 acre property is fully fenced with plenty of room to run. It also features a few trees to ensure some shade. Senna especially loves fetch, chasing the herding ball, and games of tag -- and we're confident your dog(s) will, too!
Reviews
This was Sydney's 3rd or 4th stay with Laura and Marvin. Sydney came home very happy. She's an elderly dog at 18 and I don't worry at all while she's here. Thanks for taking care of our little girl!
Great stay as usual with Laura and Marvin. Both our old girls are frequent and happy guests. They love the care they get.
Quite simply, they are the BEST!
Our dogs have stayed with Laura a few times now and they are so excited when they get there that we actually feel good (not guilty) about leaving them on their wonderful play-date special vacation time. I think they have more fun on their vacations than we do!

Information Laura C. would like to know about your pet
We are open to dogs of all breeds and sizes -- we love 'em all! We would love to know your dog's likes and dislikes so we can ensure they have the best time here possible. Please also let us know how we can best customize our home to accommodate any concerns or preferences you might have, including but not limited to feeding schedules, medications, behavior, and crating. It's always hard to leave your pets behind -- let us make sure everything is how you want it to be!
A typical day
Here's where we'll take our walks We vary our walks, sometimes traveling to nearby parks, but generally consist of wandering our quiet neighborhood around Rosemary Lane or traversing the wooded trail next to our house. Your dog's sleeping arrangement Your dog(s) will sleep wherever they like. We generally share our bed, and unless you request otherwise, our entire home is open to your dog(s). We are also happy to set up your crate, either in our room or in another room of the house, according to your preference. Time I'll spend with your dog Our work schedules ensure that your dog will be home alone less than four hours a day -- and even those overlaps in Laura and Marvin's work schedules only occur two or three times a week! As such, your dog(s) will have LOTS of people time and attention. Your dog(s) will get at least three walks daily and lots more outdoors time when the weather is nice. We also often play inside games like hide and seek, tug o' war, and catch the laser. Laura's paramount goal is ensuring each of your pets' needs and preferences are met to ensure their comfort. She has had dogs, cats, birds, hamsters, gerbils, fish, and horses since the age of four. Some reviews from previous Rover customers: "We had a fantastic experience with Laura and Marvin. I am a bit of helicopter puppy mom and they put me at ease from the first meeting, sent pictures and messages during the stay, and gave us lots of details about how our pup responded and got used to his new surroundings. Our pup was clearly happy and comfirtable when we picked him up. Thanks for everything! Next stay is already booked!" "A second wonderful stay for Abby & Chelsea with Laura & Marvin! The "girls" were treated as family and loved their stay with this warm, caring couple. While Abby & Chelsea gave us a warm, enthusiastic welcome, we suspect there was just a tinge of regret they had to say goodbye to Lara & Marvin."
