Cat + dog owner and lover!
Pet care experience
I’ve had both dogs and cats since I was born! I had a lovely Golden Retriever named Sunny from age 8 to 14 who I absolutely adored and cared for. From age 16 till now, Mia is our family German Shepard who is a little wild but the greatest friend. In August, I recently adopted my deceased grandmother’s 9 year old cat named Mimi who is the now light of my life! I am her sole caretaker now, as my grandma requested before her passing. She knew how much I loved and cared for animals, including her cat when she didn’t have the strength to. I also have professional experience watching animals. In middle school, I did drop-in visits for 2 cats, including dealing with a vet emergency for 2 weeks. I’ve also watched many cats for weekends, an overnight check-in, or as long as a week. I even have experience working with cats with disabilities; a regular cat I cared for (9+ years) had a missing hind leg. I also have done drop-in visits for my neighbor’s 2 pugs several times! I would be honored to care for and cherish your pets during your time away and hope you will consider me!

Safety, trust & environment
Safety is my number one priority. For any new animal I care for, I always let them come to me when they are ready! This creates a trusted and safe environment for your pet and myself! I will discuss during our meet and greet other safety precautions I take.
Information Laura C. would like to know about your pet
For any animal I sit, I would greatly appreciate a meet and greet to ensure we both feel comfortable with moving forward with the service. If you would like to provide me with a printed schedule, that would also be great! On a schedule, information like when it’s best to feed, how long of a walk does your pet enjoy, or when is bedtime would be great to share. Lastly, if there is anything I should know, please tell me! I want to make sure pet is happy and comfortable and I want to be as prepared as I can be. So, allergies, conditions that make them anxious (thunder), or anything else worth noting should be relayed to me!
A typical day
Depending on your pet’s activity level, there are lots of fun activities we can do! For senior dogs, I usually stick to backyard play or short walks. Otherwise, I will typically take your dog on a 30 minute walk twice a day. If you have an especially active dog, please let me know so we can plan an activity schedule for them! If watching a cat, I have lots of toys we can play with indoors!

Availability
I am currently working full time remote M - F (8:00AM - 4:30PM). For those who are curious, I work for the state as an environmental scientist focused on improving how we recycle, compost, and dispose of our waste! I am more than happy to house sit on weekdays, but I will need access to wifi! For walks/drop-ins, I can only do before 8:00AM or after 5:00PM unless you are flexible with the exact time I come (please send me message if this is your case).
