Pet care experience
For a long time I thought I wanted to be a vet, which led to stints volunteering at the Humane Society and a local pet shelter and pet store. Now I work at a job with flexible hours that lets dogs into its offices and is surrounded by dog parks. I've had fish, birds, cats, and dogs (currently my parents are with my lhasa apso) ranging in age and breeds, and all have lived long and happy lives! My home is pet-friendly - a sunny apartment with a large bed for lounging, corners perfectly fitted for a dog bed, and an easy walk to many dog parks in the area. And do I love to walk! If your pet stays with me they'll be treated to 2-3 30 minute+ walks each day, and on the weekends outings can turn into 1 hour long adventures to the parks nearby. Perks of being an early riser! My office allows pets, so I'm happy to take the pet with me into work and make sure that they are taken care of fully while you are away. However, I will need to register your pet at work, so please be prepared to provide your pup's vaccination records. Though my profile says I accept large dogs, this will need to be discussed to understand exactly how large the dog is and its unique needs! Please provide your pet's bowls, food, leashes / doggie bags, bedding, and treats when booking to ensure that they have some familiar items to help them settle into their temporary home away from home. I am flexible with routines and specific requests as long as they are provided before the booking. I do not sit for puppies or dogs that are not housetrained, so generally I don't sit for dogs under 2.5-3 years old. My apartment has wall to wall carpeting and unfortunately can't handle a puppy's sometimes destructive energy. I am happy to do drop-ins or walks for puppies, however.
Reviews
Larissa was such a great sitter for our two pups! Super friendly, responsive and caring to our furry family members. We will definitely ask Larissa to help out in the future when we find the need for a sitter again!
Larissa is very friendly and organized. My cat felt at home immediately at her place. She provided updates on my little on in a timely manner. All in all she is very reliable and caring toward pets
Larissa did a wonderful job caring for our little ones. They were returned to us happy and healthy. She kept us updated with cute photos. Highly recommended.
Larissa was really good with Titan. He got a chance to explore the city with her. She asked questions when she thought he might have allergies. Would use her again.

As I said in my profile, I do not sit for puppies or dogs that are not housetrained, so generally I don't sit for dogs under 2.5-3 years old. My apartment has wall to wall carpeting and unfortunately can't handle a puppy's sometimes destructive energy. I am happy to do drop ins or walks for puppies, however! My space is just not set up to accommodate a young dog at this time.
A typical day
I live nearby Cal Anderson and Volunteer Park, and will often walk dogs there for an enjoyable day or half day of hanging out. I love long walks - more often than not your dog will easily got two 45+ minute walks out of me each day, and I am always happy to take your pup out on the weekends to these parks or a dog park for a whole half day and read on a bench while playing fetch and watching them play with other puppies. I've done some training courses with my own dog, so I'm happy to pass on what I've learned to other dogs - many a pup has left my home finally following "sit", "stay", "down", "up", and "roll over" commands! I also give the best massages - so I apologize in advance for any dog who comes home to you and whines when you aren't willing to scratch their head or belly for hours on end.
