Pet care experience
I have been a pet owner my entire life. I've jokingly called myself a "cat whisperer" and pride myself in connecting with kitties of all ages. I will care for your furry friend like it is my own. I prefer to care for cats and small dogs as I'm admittingly intimidated by large dogs.

I asked Lara to take care of our cat months in advance, and she was responsive right away and kept the appointment. She took great care of a cat who wanted nothing to do with anyone but our son. When we had other pet sitters take care of her, she was despondent when we came home. Lara not only fed and took care of our kitties' litter, but she also tried to connect to our kitty. This kept our kitty happy, and she was not hiding from us when we came home, which was a sign that she was well taken care of. I highly recommend Lara as the best pet sitter we ever had!

I believe that it's important to understand any special needs of a pet (does it require medication), does it have an aversion to children or others animals, are there special toys or routines that would make the pet more content in my care? That is where communication with the owner is critical and sets everyone up for success!
A typical day
While watching kitties, to keep them active and engaged I would play with cat toys - some that are usually a hit are as simple as string on a stick and laser pointers. I'm also happy to sit and snuggle with your kitty, if they are in need to closeness in your absence. While watching your pup - I would go for walks around the neighborhood, along the tow path, or to a local dog park - if the dog's personality was conducive to socializing with other pets (and with the owner's permission!)

Availability
I am currently home full time with my 2 year old son, so I have a very flexible schedule to help care for your pet. He may need to come with me during care hours, so if your pet is very timid or not good around small children we probably aren't a good fit. Sorry.
