Before we got our family dog, a 50 lb labradoodle, 12 years ago, I took care of multiple neighbors' dogs of all breeds and sizes, from shih tzus to labradors. I also volunteered at a dog shelter in high school for a few years and worked as a dog sitter for two different families throughout college. I have at least 14 years of experience walking, feeding, bathing, and building relationships with all sorts of dogs! Additionally, I have experience giving senior dogs various types of medications, as well as walking large, reactive dogs. I can promise that I will love and care for your pet as if it were my own, and send you lots of pictures during our time together! In addition to dogs, I am also experienced in caring for cats. My only current pet is my 1.5 year old cat, Thena.

As I am only able to care for pets in their own homes, I do everything possible to familiarize myself with all their favorite toys, food, and treats, as well as the schedule they're accustomed to for meals and walks.

I'm pretty comfortable with all dog breeds and sizes. It would be especially important for me to know whether your dog gets along with other dogs/humans, has any allergies, favorite toys or treats, or has any emotional needs (separation anxiety, etc).
A typical day
I can take your dog wherever you both feel most comfortable -- while I love exploring the various parks and nature areas around Valpo, I'm also happy to walk your dog around the neighborhood they're familiar with. My own dog used to love playing frisbee, so finding an area where your high-energy dog can safely run loose and get enough exercise is really important to me! If your pup would rather stay curled up on the couch for a nap or for pets and attention then of course I’d love to do that as well.
