Pros: - Lanfeng sent us daily updates with photos and videos of our cat - Misty didn’t lose or gain any weight so her diet was maintained as instructed - The apartment has big windows so cats can contemplate nature and watch birds - Lanfeng also willingly provided more information about the stay per request Cons: - Though the questionnaire that is provided on the pet sitter’s page contains gathering info about pets health, she didn’t require any actual vaccination and medical documentation (i.e., FeLV/FIV tests for cats) from the pet owners. I believe this is very important when accepting multiple clients at a time - The apartment is one bedroom and almost has no hiding places and vertical surfaces cats can use, like cat trees. It can feel quite empty and not safe from a cat’s perspective. There’s also not enough space for making slow introductions, and that is considering Lanfeng accepts 3 clients (clients, not cats!) at a time. - In our instruction we mentioned that a water bowl should be away from food bowls. While looking at some photo updates, we noticed that the bowls were all in one place. I asked the sitter to change that and she said she would. However, when we came to pick our cat, we saw all bowls were still in one place. Our cat also had a lot of dandruff which she has when she’s dehydrated. - Unfortunately, here comes the most important downside of our boarding experience with Lanfeng. She didn’t see our cat got a noticeable bald spot behind her ear. Me and my husband had to bring our cat to the vet, and after running some tests, which included finding a claw in our cat’s fur, they said the spot was an indication of a fight with another cat. Lanfeng said that she didn’t observe any fight. That means no action was taken and our or other cats weren’t in any way isolated from each other to prevent further conflicts. I could only guess about the stress level our cat had to go through during this stay. We’ll also have to visit the vet in a month again for FeLV/FIV testing as was recommended by the clinic. As I mentioned earlier, no actual medical documentation is gathered from the pet owners. We have boarded our cat before and this is the first far from perfect experience. The review we’re giving serves two purposes: first, so that future clients would be fully aware of potential risks their pets might be exposed to; second, so that Lanfeng can improve the boarding conditions and reconsider the policy. Sadly, we cannot say our Misty was given enough attention during her long stay and we're still very worried about her emotional and physical state.

Lanfeng was extremely responsive and very caring with my pets! She kept me updated on how they were doing and ensured they were well fed and had a clean space. Thank you for your attentiveness!
