Trusted, Flexible, and Loving

Pet care experience

I have been taking care of a variety of breeds, ages, and special needs dogs for over ten years. I can provide references for clients requiring any form of care, in particular overnight stays. I understand you need someone you can trust both in your home and with your beloved pets. My girlfriend and I are trying to find the right breed to adopt, so taking care of your dogs helps us as well. I especially love and have experience with Havanese, Jack Russel Terriers, (my dog growing up) Yorkies, Golden Retrievers, and above all, pugs!

As a first time Rover user I was a little nervous to leave Harley with a stranger as Harley is a bit quirky, but when Harley came back exhausted I knew he had been in great hands. Lane was quick to respond, gave us updates on Harley, and even took him to work with him one day! Drop off and pick up was a breeze and I don't think Harley wanted to leave. I would leave Harley with Lane anytime and would recommend anyone to him!

Information Lane S. would like to know about your pet

Aside from obvious concerns, such as diet, medication, and walking schedule and pace, I always ask about how dogs respond to other dogs and people. Often, as we all know in New York, other dogs, and especially children, want to say "Hello!" I make it a point to clear how the dog responds to attention from others with the owner. For an overnight stay, I ask about the dogs sleeping arrangements (in the bed is fine!) and whether or not they need a television/noise machine on during the day. I'd also love to know where in your home they are allowed and not allowed, and where their favorite toys (and in some cases, outfits) are. Additionally, if there are any grooming needs and appointments, please feel free to ask if I can "pick up and drop off" your pet.

A typical day

Keeping your dog safe is my number one priority, especially in New York City. I'm more than comfortable taking your dogs on their "established routes" or exploring new territory; whether in a park, dog run, or sidewalk! I also love to play with their favorite toys, and, if allowed, to give them a deserved treat every once in a while.
