I have a fenced yard and an open field nearby (walking distance). The back door stays open most of the day so the dogs can go into the yard and relieve themselves or play whenever they feel comfortable. We do not allow plush animals or meaty bones, for obvious reasons, when multiple dogs are staying over. We limit unspayed/unneutered dogs to one gender at a time (i.e. one or two females, or one or two males, but never both males and females at the same time unless permission granted by all owners). This is a no-hit household, positive reinforcement and redirection are my primary training techniques, with occasional cooling-off timeouts given when necessary. We do have our own dog, neutered male, and he is very good with all dogs including small dogs and puppies.
