Pet care experience
I love to train dogs! I have about 10 years of dog training experience and have been caring for pets, from dogs and cats to horses and reptiles, for nearly 20 years. Most recently, my husband and I have raised two Belgian Malinois, so you can imagine I am up for a challenge! While in my care, I will ensure your pet is safe and comfortable and send regular photo and video updates to keep you informed along the way. We will work on any behavioral concerns and may even learn some new tricks (with your permission) while you are away! I don't have any breed preferences at all and have experience with a variety of animals at all life stages - bring on your puppies, seniors and pets with medical and/or behavioral issues!

I just cannot give enough stars or say enough good things about Lacey! From the ease of early communication to the meet and greet to her above and beyond care of my Crosby and Ike during their stay, I would recommend Lacey 1,000 times! She treated my pets like royalty with love and affection, but also stimulated their brains and bodies regularly--making for the absolute happiest dogs during the stay and upon their arrival back home. And did I mention she picked them up from my house and dropped them back off?! As the parent of a young toddler but also owner of two large breed dogs with very different ability levels due to age difference, this was such an amazingly helpful thing to do. As a family new to the area and without knowing many people, I am so grateful to have found Lacey, someone I trust whole heartedly to care for my pets anytime in the future. Thank you, Lacey!

For all services, I try to follow your pet's regular routines as closely as possible, as I find this helps to minimize stress while you’re away. When pets are in my care, I make sure they get regular potty breaks, plenty of exercise (both physical and mental) and down time. For drop-in visits and walks, I consistently arrive on time, provide short training sessions and/or "structured walks" (walking and training at the same time), play your pet's favorite games with them, and give lots of affection, treats and cuddles! For boarding, my husband and I have a huge fenced yard and tons of toys, so guest pups will get plenty of exercise and mental stimulation throughout the day. Our house is also right next to a 2-mile loop trail - I’d love to take your pup for structured walks (or even jogs) while they are staying with me! We also have several dog beds and even reserve one of our couches as the “dog couch,” so your pup will have lots of comfy places to settle down and relax. I adapt my own schedule to suit your pup, with consistent potty, meal, play and nap times scheduled throughout the day. You guessed it - my life revolves around dogs!

That being said, please let me know in advance if your dog has any particular needs or behavioral issues that you would like me to account for and/or work on while they are in my care. If needed, I am happy to do multiple Meet & Greet sessions to help your pup get comfortable with me. I have seen it all and would love to help with your pup's training while you are away!
A typical day
I love to provide structured walks and short training sessions for both physical exercise and mental stimulation. For boarding, we have toys galore and I love to play with your pup both in the house and outdoors! We live right next to the Perimeter Trail around Frank Annberg Park, so I like to go on walks along that trail for whatever length of time is best for the dog. For all my services, I like to do a short training session, followed by a structured walk and then nap time, but if your dog already has a specific routine I am very flexible!

I am a graduate student and I work from home, so I can be with your pet full time. I am very flexible with scheduling and am great for the occasional vacationer or for more consistent needs!
