Can I pet your dog?
Pet care experience
Hello! I'm excited to pet your dog. I grew up with dogs, I have one of my own now, and until COVID-19 hit, I was an employee at Rover corporate. I'm a crazy dog lady who knows far too much about these creatures (did you know they laugh?), I adore them, and am well versed in body language in approaching the nervous Nellies out there. I have a cat as well, but he is confused about which species he is as he has spent his life with my pup. I'd love to come attempt to pet your cat, too, if they're into it. My availability is always up to date, and I’m more flexible on time of day than the app me to indicate. Also, I’m a sucker for animals, so should my calendar say I’m unavailable and I pop up on your search anyway, feel free to ask. Especially if you’re in a pinch. The meet and greet is both delightful and integral to building trust with you and your pet. I'll need to know any quirks, dietary restrictions, and naughty behavior to look out for (leash pulling, favorite spots to hide / hide an accident in the house, etc). The safety and happiness of your animal is of the UTMOST importance to me - I can't stress this enough. My dog is the center of my world, and I'll be sure to give your pet a space there while they're in my care.
Reviews
Simply stated, Lacey has been Consistently Fabulous - in every aspect I can think of! I'm new to the area so was anxious about trying to find a trustworthy cat sitter, but Lacey has proven to be the 'bestest' find. My little three-legged kitty, who is typically shy and cautious, decidedly loves her "Lacey time", which is filled with adoring care and cuddles, not to mention the play activities and treats! Lacey goes above and beyond to learn everything needed about how to make these care visits as special and successful as they should be. Thank you, Lacey!
Lacey did a great job, as always.
Lacey does a great job. What else can I say?
Lacey helped us out last minute and was so great with our dogs. We felt they were safe, happy and well taken care of while we were gone. We will definitely ask Lacey to watch them in the future.

Information Lacey P. would like to know about your pet
Please be honest about your dog's leash training and prey drive. I'll be the last person to judge if your dog thinks heels are just for licking or just must chase that squirrel, TRUST me I understand. Their safety is my top priority, and if they're too strong and pull too hard, it could put them in danger. That said, I can handle some pretty strong (and strong willed) dogs. Any quirks, weird things that scare them. If your dog history of either pack-instigated or unprovoked biting, I need to know in advance. In a similar vein, please let me know how they are around children so I can avoid them if necessary.
A typical day
For drop ins, obviously first we do all the pets and hellos. If your dog has separation anxiety, please let me know ahead of time so I don't over-do the greeting or the goodbye. Depending on your dog's personality and your set up, there could be fetch! Or a frolick! Or maybe we just sit on the couch and do belly rubs. I'm game for any of it. Before I leave, with your permission, I like to hide a couple of healthy treats for them to find after I'm gone. They. Love. Nose work. And it keeps anxiety down! I have an old, dirty SUV that your dog is welcome to filthy up on a nice day if we want to take a little jaunt. I'm new to the area, so actually I'm the one open to trail suggestions or good dog parks at the moment.
