Pet care experience
Kind animal lover and hard worker! I’m currently an undergraduate psychology student in New York but I spend my summers in either Los Angeles or New Orleans. Before I transferred to my current university, I was a veterinary science major at UC Davis and had the opportunity to some professional coursework in domestic and companion animal care. Pet sitting/dog walking allows me to continue with my passion for working with companion animals even after abandoning my veterinary science major. Aside from being a pet owner my entire life (dogs, cats, birds, snakes, etc), I've had several animal-sitting jobs that have included overnight visits, walks morning and night, administering oral medication, and occasionally providing some house-sitting duties such as plant-watering and tidying up. I always provide the owners with pictures to keep them updated. I’m a big hiker so if you’re comfortable with me taking them to some local nature parks it would be an absolute dream to explore some new trails with your pup!

Kyra was great with my two little guys! She sent pictures everyday, usually more than once. Before booking she came to meet us and she asked about the specifics of my pups day and checked in with me when she was with them about questions that she had. I have 2 dachshunds and one of them is getting over a back injury and needs to be carried a lot, which Kyra was so understanding and accommodating about. I’ll absolutely book with her again because she made me feel so comfortable leaving her with my pups. Thanks Kyra!!
Kyra is awesome. She took excellent care of our needy/elderly dog. Kyra provided regular updates and prompt responses to all communications. I highly recommend her :)
Kyra was fantastic! I appreciated her coming over for a meet & greet beforehand. She & Beignet fell in love instantly, so I knew I could be at ease during my time away. She’s a great communicator, and I extremely loved all the photos she sent us because I obviously miss my dog tremendously when away from her. And seeing Beignet snuggled up to her in some of the pics, made my heart melt! I would absolutely book Kyra again, & I encourage anyone to do the same.

No breed preferences, I've cared for dogs of all shapes and sizes! Before I dog sit, I would like to know if the owner has any specific ways of dealing with good or bad behavior so I can do the same for the sake of consistency. I would also like to know if the dog has any allergies, if there's anything specific that spooks them out, and what the protocol is for medical emergencies.
A typical day
If the owner is comfortable with it, I would love to go on walks on some local nature trails. Depending on the age, size, and temperament of the pup, activities could include dog parks or walks around the neighborhood. *For doggy day care, we will rarely spend time in my home. I will mostly be taking the dog on hikes!
