Pet care experience
Since I was born, I have had German Shepherds! My family currently has one pup named Jax who recently lost his brother, Hunter, to epilepsy, thus I have a bit of experience with sick dogs. Dogs have been a part of my family for as long as I remember, and I know how important it is for pets to be treated like family, and to be loved even when their human family cannot be around! I am hoping to provide comfort to those who have to be away from their loved pets, even if it is just a small amount of time. I also have lived with a cat the past year, Goose, who is my roommates pet. He has been been making me really think about if I am more of a cat or dog person. The jury is still out!

I understand how nerve wracking it can be to leave a pet with someone they do not know well, and I think growing up with big dogs has helped me learn the fears of them getting to know a new person. Your dog or cat's safety is of the utmost important to me, and I will work with you to figure out the best safety procedures with your pet in your own home to make you feel at ease.

If your pet takes medications or has special needs when I visit please let me know! My pup who passed recently took a lot of medications and our sitters always appreciate a detailed outline of what care needed to be given to him. I would appreciate the same as this is the way your pet gets the best care! Also, if I will be taking your pet on a walk, it would be helpful to know if they get along with other animals so that I can prepare for that as well!
A typical day
Every pet has different needs - some dogs love playing fetch while some do not understand what fetch is! Some cats love attention and some want to hide underneath beds all day. I will communicate with you for the needs of your animal friends and see what they love best to ensure they receive as much love as possible on my visit!

I am a graduate student in the area, nearing the end of my semester. I am looking to take care of dogs and cats whenever possible in the time left in the semester, and then my schedule will become much more flexible in the next few weeks!
