Pet care experience
WELCOME TO A&K PET KARE We're Kyra & Alex and we'd love to visit with your dog or cat next time you spend the day out or have a long day shift at work. Rely on us to care for your furry family member while you get things done on your schedule. We specialize in our duo-human approach which we believe gives pets the essential love, care, socialization and obedience training that helps them thrive. Kyra has lived with/taken care of animals since she was 6 years old and has owned & cared for dogs the last 13 years. We currently have a very sweet 10 year old Catahoula Mix living in our apartment and a handsome, spunky Russian Blue (cat) who gets along well with dogs. He mostly does his own thing. :) Alex has taken care of both cats and dogs for over 17 years.

Kyra and Alex walk our pup a few times a month and it’s always wonderful. Our pup loves their attention and wonderful walks. We love that we can be out and not worry because we know he’s getting such great care.
Kyra is wonderful! She's super quick to respond any time I reach out to her and she's very reliable. It's wonderful to know we can explore the area knowing we don't have to rush home because our pup is being well cared for.
Kyra and Alex were amazing. They really put our mind at ease knowing our pup was being so well cared for. We will definitely be using them a lot in the future.

We strive to leave an environment better than we found it and will follow any specific instructions desired (within reason.) Please do let us know of any special requests or concerns within your home, or to avoid pets on furniture etc. Please also let us know if your pet needs to be fed during daycare. We no longer accepts walks during hot mid-day lunch hours as this is unsafe or both us and the pet. Let us know about your dog’s activity/play level or any other requirements so we can keep them happy! :)

Please let us know of any special needs to requests for your dog. We prefer dogs who are active walkers on leash, or well-behaved in their yards and don't fear strangers in their home. Please let us know if your dog has special requirements.
A typical day
As permitted by our clients, we will play inside and outside! Walks can be requested if your pup needs more exercise. If you have a private yard, we love to play fetch or run around outside to tire out your pup. Inside we practice safe play with toys, obedience/trick, training and will provide treats, food and water as necessary (or for being so good!!)

Kyra & Alex can watch in your home
Availability
We’re both at home full-time, make our own work schedules, are available for drop ins, longer visits and/or scheduled walks if requested. Trips to the dog park or beach, etc. are up to the owner’s discretion once we are very acquainted with the pet. Let us know of your pet’s individual walking needs/schedule.
