Pet care experience
I grew up with dogs, but haven’t had one since I moved to New York. I miss dogs, and find myself really enjoying connecting with friends’ dogs and dogs I meet in the street. I don’t have room for a dog of my own right now, but I love pet-sitting, since it gives me a chance to get some canine companionship. I have two Brittany Spaniels back home, and most recently raised a puppy. These are energy-filled and emotionally-needy dogs, and I enjoy everything from wrestling, to tug-of-war, to walking, to restful snuggling, depending on the personality and needs of the dog. I do not mind taking care of the logistics of potty breaks, accidents, and providing little comforts. You and your dog will love me because I'm an attentive caretaker that tries to cater to the individual needs of a dog based on the tendencies of the breed, the personality, and the health disposition. I'm keen to work closely with an owner to understand the specific needs of their pet, and can make adjustments to scheduling and last minute needs. I have loved dogs and had them in my life since I was a child, and I am always excited to provide a service that I genuinely enjoy doing! I just graduated from NYU and I’m applying to grad school and working part time. I don’t have my whole day free, but I have plenty of time to spare for walking dogs and making sure they’re entertained and getting plenty of exercise. I live in the West Village, which is family-friendly and dog-friendly and has parks galore. If your dog likes a meandering walk through the park, then we’ll get along just fine.

Kyna was absolutely amazing with our high energy pup. She’s expireced and professional, but also so caring. She didn’t just watch our dog, she made sure the dog had the best time ever—walks, playtime, even outings to the dog park. Plus, Kyna was really understanding and accommodating when we had to tweak plans last minute. She’s totally fantastic.
I was nervous about doing my first trip leaving my pup with a pet sitter. But Kyna was so fabulous - from our first Meet and Greet, through the many photos and text updates she sent, to coming home to a happy little corgi. From the beginning to the end, she was very easy to work with and always responded very quickly. Not to mention the first pet sitter I spoke with bailed when she learned my dog had just been diagnosed with giardia. Kyna eased my nerves by saying not only that she was happy to take care of Bailey but that she already had experience with pet sitting a dog with giardia. I was so thankful to know Bailey would be in great hands while I was out of town. Additionally, I think my apartment was neater when I got back than it was when I left. I'd definitely choose Kyna again!
Kyna was so professional and I trusted her completely when she was able to stay with Chester last minute. She even went out of her way to drop him off with our friend for the last part of our long weekend vacation. We would HIGHLY recommend her to anyone!

When I have a dog in my care, I like to keep a list of activities and needs. Tell me about your dog’s routine and diet, and any medical needs. Tell me what veterinarian you use, and any emergency contact information. If your dog doesn’t have a regimen, I’ll just pay attention for cues about needing potty breaks and outside time. We’ll all get together beforehand to meet and talk, and so I can get a sense of your dog’s disposition. It's important for me to know any dietary constraints, routines, or any special needs of the dog that I am sitting. I love being social with any kind of dog, although I am quite partial to Brittanys, Golden Retrievers, Spaniels, and the like. I find any dog a joy to be with, and would love to give your pet the attention it needs and deserves during the day while you're gone, or over your vacation. I will make any adjustment necessary to your dog's needs, and am simply keen to help!
A typical day
Your dog and I will probably go exploring in Fort Tyron Park, Inwood Hill Park, and Harlem Hill Park,all of which are quite vast and perfect for long walks. My roommates and I love dogs and will spend plenty of time playing and hanging out with your dog, indoors and out. What does your dog like to do? We can play chase and tug-o’-war, or I can work to support any training your dog is working on. I’ve cared for puppies before and have no trouble cleaning up after them. Growing up, I lived with Brittany dogs, which require a lot of communication and connection. I love talking to dogs, and they seem to love it, too.
