Pet care experience
I have recently moved back to New York City after finishing a postgraduate education in Film and Digital media at Australia's University of Sydney, and I've decided to return to caring for dogs and cats as I pursue film and photography aspirations. I have been caring for dogs and walking dogs for years, and have managed dogs of all temperaments and sizes. I love running with dogs, playing with dogs, training dogs and caring for dogs. I also love photographing pets, and I will always include some adorable photos with my visits. I believe safety and engagement are important and I will always take care to give your companion respect, gentleness, and a fun, playful workout! I also dog and cat sit, and I ensure to engage with your furry friends when I do. I will use their favorite toys, ensure they get plenty of attention, and keep their routine as normal as possible while you are away. Because I do walk dogs throughout the day as a living, I generally pet sit from 4pm-8am, (though sometimes I can come as early as 2pm, particularly if I have an evening class). I have outlined the activities I like to do when I stay with pets below, but I like to talk with owners before a sitting engagement begins. I'm always willing to listen to your needs, and can negotiate a sitting schedule that best works with you as well. Finally, I am trustworthy, and passed a background check for dog sitting this past month.

I would like to know if the dog has any allergies (please be specific), and what triggers the dog has (what causes the dog to bark, chase, go on the guard, etc.) Also, does your pet have any favourite treats, toys or places where he likes to be scratched? Are there any hazards I should be aware of or is there any medication I need to give the dog? If I'm staying for the night, does the dog have a nightly ritual or something that's done to relax him or her? Are there any commands (sit, stay, 'leave it') that your dog responds well to? Also please be sure to leave instructions on how to get into your building.
A typical day
I love walking dogs in greenspace such as in the many parks of New York City, but I have had fun in the urban blocks of New York as well. I also love playing Frisbee, laser tag or tug with dogs provided that it is safe or appropriate in the environment we're in. Finally, while I will always send you digital photos of our time together, I can also provide separate photography sessions if you are interested. If you are booking me for an overnight session, I can generally be at your place from about 4pm-8am the next day, and I arrange times during the day to drop in every few hours to provide your dog with a potty break. From 4pm-8am, your dog will get 90 minutes worth of walking (with at least 30 minutes in the morning from 7:30am-8am), play time, meals, healthy snacks, pampering and brushing if needed, and any other ritual your pup is accustomed to in that period.
