Hi there! My name is Kyla and I am a Registered Veterinary Technician. I attended Thompson Rivers University in Kamloops and graduated with a diploma in Animal Health Technology. I have experienced a lot working in an animal hospital such as first-aid, CPR, animal behaviour, bandaging, oral medication administration, subcutaneous and intramuscular injections, blood collection, anesthesia, dental cleanings, nail trimming, anal gland expression, and x-ray aquisition to name a few. I have worked with dogs, cats and large animals professionally for 9 years, and have had dogs since I was a child - my first word was even our dog's name! I have a 5 year old loving and friendly Austrialian shepherd/ poodle mix named George, who would love to play if your pet is friendly and playful as well. If you are considering dog walking, check-ins or boarding, I am well-qualified and would love to work with your pet.

Kyla was fabulous. She last minute took in our furbaby when we were out of the country and our initial sitter didn’t work out. She sent daily updates and photos. Our pup loved having another furry friend to play with. He seemed like he had a wonderful time. It was reassuring knowing he was taken care of so well. We would definitely recommend Kyla to anyone!

I would like an idea of your dogs temperament and if they are food-motivated. I rely on positive reinforcement behaviour modification techniques and believe food and play is crucial to a fulfilled pet. I am ok with any size pet as long as they have a cruelty-free harness/collar and the big ones are good on leash. I will not walk your dog with a prong collar.
A typical day
Suited to the energy level to the pet - from quiet walks around your neighborhood to nearby parks and trails. I also will take them to off-leash parks or an off-leash beach with your permission.

Availability
I currently work full-time in the veterinary industry, but return at lunch for an hour to check in with my pup. I spend my evenings and weekends training and socializing my dog as well as exploring the Fraser valley.
