We can guarantee that your furbabies will be treated with the same level of love and care that they would receive from you. Unless otherwise requested, they will be allowed in all of our living spaces (including on furniture). With lots of parks close by, we will have lots of opportunities for walks. We even have a completely fenced in back yard to allow for some off-leash running time! My husband and I love dogs and won't hesitate to give snuggles while you are away. We'll provide a safe, fun environment...and peace of mind for you! We have provided care for puppies, dogs with medical needs, dogs with behavioral concerns and dogs in their golden years. If you have any concerns or questions about if we can accommodate specific special needs, please feel free to reach out. Our experience is fairly broad with dogs and I'm sure we can oblige. We love all dogs from tiny chihuahuas who want to be carried everywhere, to big mastiffs who want to wrestle. Rest assured there's no preferential treatment based on breeds. If they're a canine, they'll be loved in our home.

Krystal looked after our 11 month old puppy for one night while we were visiting family and friends in Ottawa. Rizzo made herself right at home and even made a new bestie with her dog Cal :)
From beginning to end, our experience with Krystal was extremely positive. She's delightful. Our 5-year-old dog had always been taken care of by family. We had an 8-day vacation during which our daughter was able to mind him for all but 2 days. I contacted a home care service in my neighbourhood, but our 2 meet-and-greets were not good at all. I contacted Krystal and told her of my misgivings with the first home I’d gone to. Her response was, “You have to go with your gut.” We met Krystal, her husband and their two dogs outside her home the same day. We walked around a bit while we all got to know each other. Our dog was totally calm. We went in their house and he remained totally calm. He even went over and sat in Krystal’s lap as we sat on the floor and chatted. I knew we didn’t need a second meet-and-greet. I received positive daily updates with photos. It was reassuring and even amusing to see him lying on his back in the middle of their living room or curled up between two people on the couch, positions he would only take if happy and calm.
Krystal and her family were fabulous. She communicated with us both before and throughout Barley's stay. I also enjoyed photo updates. He got on well with her dogs (who were very sweet when I met them) and he seemed in wonderful spirits when I picked him up. He is very attached to me and is always keen to go home, yet upon pickup he continued to play with his new friends and Krystal's husband. We will definitely be using Dog Vacay again, and Krystal will be our first choice.

We are well aware that some pups prefer their own space, and some will want more interaction. We have experience with dogs are both ends of the spectrum. We are familiar with snuffle toys and have established trails in our neighborhood and abroad that we use daily. We also have a fenced in back yard perfect for off leash play time!

I work primarily from home, so your pup will have company all day long. We have had dogs in our home for well over a decade. They don't just fit into our routine, they ARE our routine.
