A little more than a year ago, Krystal worked full time as a certified sterile processor. Although she made more money, happiness and fulfillment were not part of the equation. She became a volunteer at an animal rescue farm which is how she found her true calling in life. She wanted to take care of animals. From there, she took her 1st job as a veterinary assistant at an animal hospital. Due to the pay cut, she took a 2nd job at another veterinary clinic. She does this because, "I would rather work 2 jobs to make ends meet, while doing something I love and feel a sense of fulfillment and purpose, rather than work 1 job doing something that doesn't make me happy." When I listen to her talk about some of the lives that get saved, and even the ones that don't, I see such compassion, dedication and true humanity in her eyes and through her facial expressions. This is who I want to care for may furry family member. Krystal is now enrolled in a registered veterinary technician program that is accredited by the AVMA. One day, she hopes to go on to become a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine.
