I have a cat of my own who is a rescue (adopted 5 years ago), so I’m very familiar with building trust, respecting boundaries and adapting to different personalities and comfort levels. I also regularly care for my family’s cats (one shelter and one senior) and have been cat sitting for friends and neighbours for several years, which has given me plenty of hands-on experience with different routines and temperaments. As a freelancer, I’m flexible with availability and always aim to provide attentive, dependable care. I understand how important routine and familiarity are for cats, especially when their owners are away, and I always aim to keep things as stress-free as possible. During visits, I take care of feeding, fresh water, litter trays, and spending some quiet time with your cat, as well as sending photo/video updates for peace of mind (especially if feeding them has given them the zoomies!). For overnight stays, I’m happy to follow your usual routine and ensure both your home and cat are well looked after. I’m mindful of sudden movements and loud noises, and tend to let cats set the pace of interaction. I’m happy to follow any routines that help them feel settled, including the use of familiar toys or calming aids such as Feliway if provided.

Krystal helped us out over 2 days while we were away, looking after our two outdoor cats Mia and Kedi. She visited us a day before on short notice to meet our cats. It goes without a doubt that Krystal knows exactly how to approach a cat in a way that makes the cat feel comfortable and relaxed. She was very gentle and calm around all of our cats, showing her professionalism and experience. She is also so friendly and easy to talk to :) Krystal made sure to send us plenty of photos, messages and even videos putting our mind at ease. We cannot recommend Krystal enough as someone who is both experienced and very thorough. Thank you!
We've been so grateful to have Krystal caring for our two cats over the past six years. She’s been incredibly attentive and patient, especially with our younger cat, who frequently needs assistance with grooming due to her being abandoned as a kitten. As an adult, she needs regular brushing and the occasional clean with special cat shampoo, and Krystal has always gone the extra mile. Like most shelter cats, she was very wary at first. But thanks to Krystal ’s gentle, calm approach, she gradually came out of her shell and now actively seeks out attention from Krystal when she pops in. Our older cat is a lovely 17-year-old who sometimes needs treatment for over-groomed patches and occasionally has accidents outside the litter tray. Krystal handles all of this with care, understanding, and no fuss whatsoever. We’ve always returned to relaxed, well-cared-for cats and a spotless home. Couldn’t recommend her more highly!
