Hi. Welcome to Pampered Pups Resort in Belleville, Michigan! I have been a Petrent for over 19 years. I owned and cared for 2 pups. Bear was a Golden Retriever/Colie/St. Bernard mix weighing 110lbs. I had to put him down in 2009 due to cancer. He lived to be 11 years old. Mr. Boots was a black lab/Irish setter mix weighing 50lbs. I just recently had to put him down March 2017. He lived to be 16 years old. Mr. Boots was my special needs baby in the last year of his life. I have experience caring for all ages of pups especially for elderly dogs, as he needed much attention and special care. Some of the special attention he needed was: Hip/leg massages and stretching, diaper/wrap changes, cyst drainage, daily medication, allergy treatments, etc. I also volunteer at the the Friends of Michigan Animal Rescue on Tuesday evenings to care for the pups in need and exercise them. (Which I have also started a Fundraiser in Memory of my Pup Mr. Boots, All donations go to FMAR) RESTRICTIONS: I love all breeds and sizes; However, my complex has restrictions on certain breeds. I cannot accept: Pit Bulls, Rottweilers, Bull Mastiff, Dobermans, Chows or any other very large, or aggressive breed. I prefer pups that do not have destructive separation anxiety, is crate trained and doesn't bark excessively. (Due to neighbors in building). Also need to be potty trained. COMMUNITY: I live in a 900 sq ft apartment on the 2nd floor (Stairs) and have access to a large fenced-in dog park play area. We also have a very large grassy community to walk around. I do not have any other animals in my home at this time, so your pup will not have to share attention or toys! I also have a large 2nd floor balcony for your pup to have views of the lovely golf course area or catch an afternoon nap in the cool breeze. (Supervised) This is a smoke FREE resort! I believe in fresh air and not using chemicals in my home for fragrances. I use oil diffusers with Essentials oils that are refreshing and calming to the pups, Paw Picked by the late Mr. Boots. Some of the Oils I keep on hand that are safe for fur babies are: 100 % Essential Oils, Peppermint, Lavender, Eucalyptus, Lemongrass, and Orange. DAILY ROUTINE: I work 8-9 hours Monday - Friday during the morning/day. Your fur-baby would have a Potty break and short walk in the morning before work (weekdays), Longer morning walks on weekends, Crated in a secure dog crate during work hours and then let out immediately after work for a potty break and long walk. (30-60 minutes). We would have play time and another walk in the evening and however many potty breaks your pup needs before bed time. (Weekends will have more walks and play, depending on weather). FEEDING: Food and treats will be distributed based off of the schedule you give me. Your pup will NOT get human food or anything other that what you decide! SLEEPING: Your pup will be able to sleep with me if they choose to. Or you can bring their favorite bed and stuffed toys to sleep with next to me. ELDERLY CARE: I have experience with elderly pups as stated above. I do have a few stairs to access my apartment however if they are under 50 pounds, I can pick them up to get up and down the stairs. We can discuss your needs in this area if you have an elderly fur-baby. I never wanted to leave my pup alone with anyone once he reached a certain age, because no one could take care of him like I could, so I completely understand the severity of taking care of an older gentleman/lady pup. EMERGENCY: In case of an emergency of course you will be the first one contacted, however I have access to my vet and a 24 hour clinic in the area. STATUS UPDATES: I will keep in contact with you each day on how your pup is doing. You are more than welcome to contact me while you are gone if you feel the need. I will send short videos and photos each day of our ventures together. I offer bathing and brushing drop in visits and Dog walking for an additional cost.
