I got my first dog in 1998. She was a pitbull/border collie mix, a real spit fire. Misunderstood by most, she had the biggest combination of problematic dog traits — terrible separation anxiety, protective, energetic, fearful, high strung. I loved her anyway. She taught me a lot about dogs — to have compassion for their needs and shortcomings, to work through their quirks, always keeping in mind that dogs are special beings that deserve all my love and care. After her loss, my next dog was the polar opposite. A Frenchie with a very calm and accepting nature, Olive was with us for 10 years, a perfect love. She left us in August of 2017. We miss her dearly... But we love dogs! My daughters and I were lucky enough to adopt our next dog just before Christmas of 2017. Calvin is a mutt, part Chihuahua, part Labrador Retriever, part total goofball. He's a playful, energetic, happy pup who is used to being around lots of dogs and is learning a lot from his regular dog pals. Your dog will become part of our family, will go for walks with us. There is a very nice park nearby. Your dog will eat with us in our kitchen. They are welcome to sleep in my bed, or we have several comfy areas set-up. He/she will be welcome to our collection of toys and treats. We have a small enclosed yard and live on a very safe street.
