Pet care experience
I’ve taken care of animals (cats, dogs, birds, fish) since I was a kid, and now I’m almost 40! We rescued and gave forever homes & nice long lives to 5 cats in the past 20+ years, but my husband and I are animal lovers, so we’ve rescued so many more & have taken them to various no kill shelters so that they could help them as they needed, and ultimately find them homes. Currently we have 1 male cat left, named Tyde who we rescued from a warehouse 15 years ago, and our newest fur baby adopted us a little over a month ago. She is a one year old terrier mix, who we named Maunakea, that showed up on our doorstep one morning and never left. We tried to find her family, but after no success decided to make her a part of our own, and she’s been a perfect fit!

I have a very large, fenced yard that would be perfect for your dog to play in! Our family is filled with 4 girls and my husband ready to love on your baby & Maunakea, our 1 year old pup, loves to play too!! She is a super sweet dog who is very loving and gentle with my girls, but she seems to have not been treated so nicely prior to coming here, so she tends to be a little shy around other dogs.

If they are good with children, their temperament, any special needs (dietary, mental health, etc), and any other tips that may make his/her experience or stay more pleasurable. No preference, but just any dogs that are great with children and other dogs.
A typical day
Our dog is a member of our family, so she goes most places we go. Likewise, I would treat your dog the same way, so we would go on walks in the neighborhood, we would definitely play in our yard, and maybe on car rides to drop off the girls at different extra curricular events. We are also an ocean family, so if your dog was okay with the beach and water, maybe he/she would enjoy that as well.

Availability
I am currently a stay at home mom of a 2 year old toddler girl (with my other 3 girls off at school) & our 1 year old fur baby, so I have a lot of availability on Tuesday and Thursday mornings and early afternoons for walks. M, W, F early mornings may be available for walks between 8-9 am. Sitting and boarding, I guess would have to depend case by case, and I would have to work around my daughter’s school and extracurricular activities to try to accommodate you as best as possible.
