I've been around animals my whole life. Pet sat and ran a pet sitting business for 5 years and really enjoyed it. I learned so much about all the different breeds and mixes. I feel that walking with a dog creates a bond and they communicate with me in sharing the activity. I have found that my calm demeanor allows dogs to befriend me easily and are not challenged by me. I exercise daily, so walking with any dog is refreshing for us both. I have an Australian shepherd that keeps me running everyday. I have shown dogs for others. I have shown also in obedience and field trials with my own dog. And presently do nose work trials with my shepherd.
