Looking for my next best friend
Pet care experience
For years I’ve loved my own pets and adored other people’s, taken care of my friend’s animals while they were away and wished I could meet every dog in the neighborhood! I moved to Virginia about a year ago and recently started looking for some extra part time work on the weekends to supplement my income. One of my “best friends“ owners suggested Rover! I don’t know why it didn’t occur to me sooner! My baby girl, “Ladybug” is 13 years old now, I rescued her as a puppy from the pound. Her “pound brother”, Rocky” had several medical issues from his youth but he had 7 happy years. I took in my moms diabetic dog, “Missy” when her own health made it hard to continue caring for her. Prescription food, daily insulin shots and regular exercise got her back into good health and made her happy again. I know the joys (and struggles) off having a new puppy and the extra care and work required for a senior or special needs pet... Unfortunately I’m in an apartment now and can’t offer to board dogs but I’m happy to take care of them at your place or stop in for walks and playtime! I look forward to providing your pet the companionship and/or playtime they want, not just the food and necessities.

I have known Kristopher for over 20 years, and I have always known him to be a kind and caring person for any dog that he comes across. When my mom got sick and I had to leave town for a couple days to take care of her, there was no hesitancy in letting Kristopher look after my dog. He is responsible and someone that you can trust to take care of your four-legged family member.
Kristopher was a member of my dog's family for many years. I trusted him with the key to my home so he could let himself in and give my dogs the attention they needed when I was working long hours or when I was out of town. Rather than sending my dogs to a kennel, I would have Kris stay at my home and take care of them. My dogs were always happy and excited to see him and always tired and ready to sleep when he left. The only reason he is not in their lives now, is that he moved across the country. I have joked with him about sending him a plane ticket to come care for my dogs when I need to go out of town. Houston's loss is your gain! We miss him quite a bit here.
Kris is a responsible pet owner. He’s currently parenting to his baby girl mutt dog named Ladybug who’s 10+ years old now. He’s a good provider to her & her wellbeing is his priority all the time, he even installed a camera inside his cage so he can monitor her if he’s at work or not around. He also get along with other dogs in our neighborhood. He’s sweet, gentle & perfectly fit to be a dog sitter.

I would like to know their schedule/routine and any specific commands or words they are familiar with. Is there anything they need to work on, such as learning something new or help remembering not to do a bad behavior? When the parents are a way, the pets will play - but I’ll respect your wishes if you don’t want them on the couch or only limit them to 3 treats per day.
A typical day
Walks, games, (tug of war is my fave!) hugs-and-scratches, or just alone time on the couch if that’s what they prefer.
